Thanks, I've downloaded that and thrown it on my phone for some of the long van journeys I'm doing to and from work this week.

Watched in the van to and from work today, that was excellent thank you. If it had been filmed in higher res, you could put that straight on the telly and it would be streets ahead of most of the 'outdoor' type of programs. Wonderfully put together, interesting things about the country we live in and a person you can relate to. Probably could do with lightening the load a little though, the size of that pack made me wince a few times but what a fabulous adventure to go off on.

Just watched the whole of Hooks by Stephen Pern and thought it was excellent. The thought of carrying that pack though made me tired.

Watched the Japan one last night on the way back from work. Ordered the Divide trail book this morning and it's sitting on my kindle waiting for an opportune moment. Glad to have found them, would love to know a bit more about him, seems an interesting life. All I know so far is that he did three years in the Paras. Perhaps the books will shed a bit more light.

I watched this again last night when I couldn't get off to sleep in bed, I didn't notice the first time I watched it but I see he used white spirits in his Whisperlite, has anyone ever tried this?

I met a German lad on the SUW who was trying to run his Trangia on it without much success, I guess the pressurised system allows it to burn much hotter? I ran my Whisperlite on unleaded for a lot of years, which again wouldn't be much kop in a Trangia

I watched it last night after watching Hooks earlier on, I enjoyed seeing him as a young man after watching him as an older man previously. Also enjoyed seeing the everyday Japanese man and woman, a nice antidote to the book Nemesis by Max Hastings about the war in the Pacific that I'm reading. The Japanese don't come out looking good in that book.
