How many rucksacks in your house?

How many rucksack type artefacts on the homestead??
Crivens I dunno, there isn't even a house as such, but I would imagine high teens just here in the trailer, and probs at least same dotted about elsewhere, in various gear lairs, and hanging on random coat racks, in barns.
Accrued over decades of gear churn, donations, lefts behinds, presents, use and abuse, and 'depends on what you're doing' situations
It's a bit like shellters really isn't it?
There is rarely one bit of kit to suit all possibilities, conditions, trip length etc etc.
It's good to have lenders, kicking about bags, and so forth, but maybe there is an upper limit...
Im pleased though, to have given a nearly new, but surplus to requirements pack that was my dear departed mothers, to a friend who has just circumnavigated Lake Como with it, in the name of Peace - and I believe also in the name of sampling a lot of quality coffee and ice cream too..
On a more serious, and possibly troubling note, I did read lately that online shopping clothing returns (you know when people order three sizes to try, and then return two ) don't necessarily get properly resold, but are sometimes destroyed, or landfilled, which seems horribly wasteful, if its true.
Sure there's little risk of that with the smaller outfits, but it might be worth wondering about with the bigger named brands

I bought it (Tiso day sack) for my mother and rescued it (house clearing) and passed it to my daughter who has given it a whole new life

Which has reminded me of a purple rucksack my Mum used to keep as her 'back of her wheelchair' bag in later years. That will be around here somewhere as I couldn't' throw it out.

I feel a bit under-rucksacked
A 55 litre Berghaus from 1992. Originally used for a gap year and walking and now misused for hauling heavy, salty freediving gear. Still works.
An Arc'Teryx Miura from 1995. Used for climbing and then travelling and walking. Prob 30 litres. Zips are going so pretty much retired.
A Mission Workshops bike bag from 2010. Used every day for commuting, shopping, picking up DIY stuff. Used most.
An Osprey Exos 38 from 2016. I bought it as an update to the Berghaus in an effort to go lighter. Good for walking, used it in the Alps and other trips.
I've been looking at lighter bags but will finish buying other gear to see where I end up. .

Oh dear, I'm going to have to ignore this thread. I've been walking, camping, climbing, canoeing etc for 35 years and I've always liked gear. Probably the only pack that I haven't got any more is the framed Cobmaster rucsac I got for my 13th birthday, and that's only because it eventually fell to bits. I've still got a couple of the pockets kicking about that I used as ditty bags for a while, and I repurposed part of the frame into a bong in my late teens.

Yup, my first was a bright yellow and black Cobmaster - bought as a student.
I knew bu**er all about packs …… it was dreadfully uncomfortable, wouldn't stand up and the numerous pockets were a pain in the a***. The colour was great
.Went to charity shop when I upgraded a few years later.

22L rucksack for rock climbing or winter daywalks or any situation where I need some gear.
40L rucksack for multiple day walks

A decathlon packable bag for indoor climbing
3 handbags for non outdoorsy situations.
Several reusable tote bags for shopping groceries.
A 90L suitcase for moving to the UK. Its now where I store my tent and sleeping bags at home.

I'd forgotten about those, but yes. And some hideous 65litr rucsac thata had a hip belt which didn't go much thinner than about 40-inches. Very hard when carrying stuff for any length of time.
Only just retired my Karrimor Jaguar 65, but I still have it.
