That's as much about it being a single, small point source light with a relatively broad beam though

It's my MTB and road bike lights should be different

I've got the zebralight H52 and the Fenix HL50, both take an AA battery, which are light to carry (for spares) and easy to find in most shops.

I've also got a host of other head torches, but these are my favourites because they are so reliable.

Do you need to backpack with the charger...or is it for home use?

Thanks Ed, I’m happy to home charge and take spares.

Some of the Chinese chargers can be a fire hazard - so your recommendation would be appreciated.

4200mAh.... is that what I should look for in battery?

Can somebody recommend a decent 18650 battery and charger please?

In mine, I've found LG HG20's strike a nice balance between being able to handle the current draw and having decent capacity. I get as much life out of them as the 3400 mah's in my older H600.

I like X-tar chargers, got 3 of 'em. Also a Litokaala which is a 4 bank analyser and is kinder to the cells as it maxes out at 4.19v.

Best vendor is Fogstar. They are best ordered on a Friday from there, as they do 'Fogstar friday'.

Thanks @Teepee Pete, are these flat or ‘nippled’?

Flat, unprotected, 3000mAh. The circuitry in Zebralights is (apparently) far a better and more reliable protection for the cells than the cheap disposable circuitry in the protected cells.

How long do things stay at China Post Express Logistics Co., Ltd. Hangzhou International Mail Exchange Station Processing Center?
