3F UL Rain Kilt Review

Check your privilege, men are more likely to be persecuted for wearing skirts.

My concern would be that wp trousers would be more windproof and so double as a warm layer too, will definitely use in summer/warm country's.

Educative - perhaps ... But failing that ; you could find a real live genuine one, and ask her "What's it like being a woman?" and listen to the answer ...

The answer might be quite illuminating ... But then you'd have to find another one, and ask her, then another, and another etc, etc and so forth..

Because here's the secret dovidola (you mustn't tell though) we - are - all - different - and - have - had - varying* - experiences yes i know! Crazy stuff huh?? *but we're similar in some ways too, a bit like all the other humans :).

So question for you , in a general spirit of enquiry and understanding (and i would broaden this out to anyone else reading) just what is so troubling for the average western male, about a guy in a frock?

As our fiend Tom confirms, it can be far more comfortable, and convenient, than trews on occasion...

I have several man - friends who regularly wear skirts, and kilts, out and about, for work and play, and none of them has the excuse of Scottish ancestry.

But I couldn't see any of of them putting up with too much sh*t about it though :angelic:
,

In answer to your question - absolutely nothing as far as I'm concerned!

....as long as it's not me wearing it.

It's called freedom of choice, and that includes the choice of image we create by our appearance.

I don't much care for milk or sugar in coffee either.

Thanks for sharing the tip about women being (a) human and (b) individuals. Astonishingly, that's what I'd thought to be the case as well!

I know its horrible, and mean, that they should be so persecuted. Maybe this is moment for men to show solidarity with their brothers, and take to the hills in skirts, en masse?

Like when the women dumped their frocks in the foothills, to go a mountaineering in britches... Thus paving the way for the rights of their daughters to wear whatever they saw fit .... But your right in some (prolonged colder and wetter) circumstances, wp trews win out for all round protection.

You're more n welcome :) and if you happen to need any more long winded, stating of the bleedin' obvious - i'm your honey bee ! :angelic:
i do like milk in my coffe tho' if you're offering :coldfeet:.

Believe its still lighter than camo. :D Of course magenta is by far the lightest, followed by fluro pink (with or without purple spots). ;)

Oh lorks, now you have me both confused, and anxious Andrea :confuseded:

Is anyone in possession of any actual hard stats on all of this?

Whats the current thinking on purple biased florals, weightwise? Or polka dots?, they do have a certain breezy air too :dude:

Gender politics aside, I wouldn't mind trying out a hiking skirt. Such seem to be available in the US but not in Europe????
I don't see clothing worthwhile the import hazzle.... But it sure looks more comfy than shorts :)

Very comfy in warmer weather, and makes lots of things easier, esp if you happen to be a laydee...

A hiking skirt, is pretty much like any other quick drying practical skirrrt
Only $15 more expensive because it has the word hiking as a preface...

Mine is a wrap around, crafted from stretchy pink n purple n turquoise plaid.
Cost all of £4 worth of fabric, hemmed, plus two snaps at the waist.

Rolls up shorter, for cheeky days..

And back down to a more demure length for Sunday service.

Yes perhaps inadvisable for tick infested country ... There's really only so much. crevice rummaging that one can expect of ones hiking pardner... :geek:

@Shewie point taken but not many ticks about in the Alps or Pyrenees and I hike in shorts for much of the year if the sun is out including crossing glaciers - there must some pictures of me in down jacket and shorts somewhere...

@Fair Weather Camper "try-out" is the crucial word for me, and having 2 left hands when it comes to operating maschines, I'd be looking for a cheap ready-made option. I actually bought a sewing maschine a while ago but not found the (very considerable) time needed to figure out how to operate it (I'm one of those people who cannot understand even seemingly simple instruction which means I have to be shown or work it out for myself). But I'll bear your design in mind...

^ ^ Understood tom, but if you get a jersey type fabric, it barely even needs hemming.

i defy anyone to fail, at affixing press studs (go on then, tom prove me wrong)

pockets are definitely 'nice to haves' but not essential.

Perhaps you could find a more mature local lady who would be thrilled ( but very patient at the same time) to pass on her sewing skills to someone interested..?

I know one of the guys on the pcta is a regular user of hiking kilt/skirts. I'm not sure I see the benefit over short shorts, heavier and to save other Hill users from losing their libido I'd still choose to wear underwear whereas lined shorts mean at least as good aeration and less weight plus better visibility of your feet . Ymmv
Rain skirt I think worth a try in the summer at least for me.

Is there a link between sewings skills and "maturity" - must be what I'm lacking then...? :(

<objectification> But guys look so cute in skirts. </objectification> :o o::D

Shhhhhh Andrea ; don't tell 'em that ; as if their egos needed any more pumping  but yeah ok sometimes there is good reason to lag behind so to speak ;)

I think there is often a general linking between having done something quite a lot ; and becoming fairly good at it ; spending a lot of time doing something often requires that one has been alive ; on the job ; for many a year.

I could draw you a diagram instead tom, if this doesn't make sense o_O

FWC - stating the bleedin obvious ; using more words than is strictly necessary ; for nigh on 50 yrs :poto:
