After gifting on my old silnylon monk I finally got round to replacing it in cuben. All the major work is done. Just got to add the tie outs. I'll update with pics of the finished article but thought posting a thread would actually put some pressure on me not to throw it in a box to come back to. 0.5oz cuben breaks all my own rules about shelter durability but it's should do ok in clementish weather. Should be sub 200g I hope but not weighed it yet.

Tie out reinforcements - how are you sticking them down ? liquid glue or tape ?

liquid primer smeared over and then taped Cathy. I used 16cm diameter circles in 50gsm halved or quartered for corners. half inch tape on the edges but not primed

Trust me if Ron did a cuben monk at a proper length it would have been a buy it now moment :D Wrangling cuben in those lengths with my cutting space was PHD level Origami :D

I occupied the dining table for weeks …….

^^^ Like .
Did you consider making the 'grain' of the tieout "X" shape run in the oposite direction to the semi-circle ? Discuss :D.

I attached my linelocks using cuben 'loops' but several layers to reinforce in case of 'strain' and rubbing.

Considered it but the strength is in the bond before the fabric will take any weight plus cuben is unidirectional in strength so it was deemed moot :D
