Nice ... Good to know that Marco will do custom work to that level.
Mountain Hardwear do a Lamina 35 and Ultralamina 32. The Ultralamina range uses lighter fabrics and a slimmer cut than the lamina range. A quick google suggests the Ultralamina 32 is not available in the UK. I have the Lamina 35 and am happy with it. A few other synthetic bags with a 0 degree rating and good warmth:weight ratios to consider could be:
Mammut Alpine UL
Marmot Cloudbreak 30
Rab Ignition 2
Although the Montane Prism doesn't look as good on paper (especially given the price) that's because it uses the new standard of testing (as does the Rab Ignition 2) which generally rates bags as colder than the old standard of testing.
Don't know about collars on any of these, you might find that's sacrificed on lightweight synthetic bags with these temperature ratings.
I've ordered a pair of Marco's down socks and have been wondering about their quilts- given I sleep on either a Synmat or a DownMat, I think a quilt would work well...
Mate iv been using a down quilt with a synmat for ages and it works a treat!! I would never go back to a sleeping bag again!!
Now, to work out what I can sell to fund a down quilt!......
Is it 4 season you want or just 2-3?
2-3 season would do- augment it with a down jacket for the colder nights I am not in my Lavuu and Frontier Stove.. (Sorry, are those swear words?!)
Iv gotta say my summer fill uk hammocks top quilt is excellent. Weighs around 600g too
The down socks are great, I also got a custom quilt from Marco and it's superb.
I'll hopefully have some pics etc re the quilt up on my blog this week
Rich is away mate, you should escape a ban for at least a week.
Depends if it's a Cuban fiber lavuu and Ti stove
