Useful that @Shewie thanks, had been looking at these although obviously not with a view to buying one (that's what I'm saying on social media anyway). :shamefullyembarrased:

They look very interesting but a 15D fly....hmmm

Guess it depends on the fabric quality.

Golite were using 15D on the Shangri-la s years ago. As do Big Agnes.
MSR and others are using 7D on their lightest stuff.

A sub-£100 tent. If it's as good as it looks...

I enjoyed an earlier comment on this forum to the effect that you can only have two out of the following three things in a tent:

1.Light 2.Functional 3.Cheap

Might this disprove the rule? Sceptical, but intrigued.

Step forward a guinea pig to give it a trial run!

I think ADz has bought one recently, hopefully he'll have some comments

I think it looks brilliant for the money and am seriously tempted despite having no need for it whatsoever as the only person I have to share it with is my imaginary friends.....

The inner is 210cm (82") long/wide and looks to have a pretty deep bathtub wall. Admittedly at 120cm high, the sloping sidewalls might encroach somewhat but the dimensions are only slightly smaller than the Duplex which has 20cm more length and 2cm height than the Lanshan.

There's a wee review over on wild camping uk on Facebook with one of these in bit of nasty weather :)

That's probably why MSR flysheets are toast after about 14 days in Spanish sunshine. My Hex 3 is heavier than 20D, about 1.4oz/yd

If it performs well, £80 is a cracking bargain.

If it doesn't, then it's £80 over priced, because you ain't going to be using it!

Very tempted to grab one of these. I find myself checking the forums and eBay for second hand ones or unwanted, unused heh.

There is now a solid inner available for the lanshan 2

Rather tempted as I am gradually coaxing my wife closer to a first wild camp and I know a draught free inner will make a great difference to her.

I'm 187cm and sleep on a 9cm blow up pad. My feet do lightly touch the inner, especially on my last trip where I combined a 3 season bag with a summer quilt for a -8°C night. It doesn't bother me because the spacing between outer and inner is pretty large so the inner barely gets damp.
For a small write-up on the tent (and some other budget friendly gear I use), check out this post of mine on a Belgian forum.

Good link - thank you for plain-speaking reviews of interesting & cheap kit.

I too like the decathlon forclaz 500 trousers, very comfy. They are figure hugging enough to tell ones religion according to my wife though.

:hilarious:
My girlfriend told me the same thing when fitting so I had to pick a size up and now it's too wide around the hips which makes it less comfortable than it should be in combination with a hipbelt.

Another piece I've bought more recently and that I LOVE 100% is my SH500 fleece midlayer (which I use as a base layer)
