Already starting packing... @Cass fantastic stuff, in go the spikey things... and many more gloves
When I looked at the weather it looked more cool and drizzely, much prefer @Cass forcast!
I'll bring the Gas Trangia, fry pan, bacon and rolls for Saturday morning.
@OneBeardedWalker You won't need breakie as you will probably be throwing up after a few beers Friday night
@NEEpps ha probably, the aim this time is to be sick outside of the tent. #Aimhigh
That weather forecast is for the summits but even at lower levels the winds are looking pretty brutal.
Ever wished you'd not sold that trailstar...?
... ah come on ... what's with this changing weather forecast ... snow, no snow ... sleet no sleet .... rain (well that's a given) ... nearly zero, sub zero ... windy, gale force ...
This is not making my packing easy.... I've swapped between quilts and shelters twice so far .... out come the microspikes ....
... but the Mauritian white rum stays in ....
Kitchen sinks going in my pack! Seems churlish to sweat pack weight when your wearing your base weight in paramo
Keep meaning to ask tramplite to fit the guy kit to my shelter, might have been useful!
I'm basically taking 2 of everything, then decide on Saturday which quilt and insulation layers were deemed warm enough after Friday night. Light waterproofs seem to be okay at the moment.
Friday night should be quite sheltered if it is an easterly
@JKM Hope you're bringing the whole bottle.
Too many (family) commitments to make this one
From the bridge, which do you recommend, A40 turn left at Sennybridge, or M4 turn right at Swansea?
Satnav is saying same duration, but 12 miles more via M4.
Looks like a few wildcamping opportunities heading up the Beacons Way from the pub? Towards the waterfalls?
I've scoped out a couple of little woods for my hammock.
(that is if I don't wuss out and sleep in the van)
Have a great time all, I'll be thinking of you whilst at work
I've far too much going on around this weekend to squeeze it in and can't make it work.
Arrived a few days before hand and walked across to the meet. Weather has been everything from so hot I was down to a base layer, gale force wind, (I had to crawl up Cefn Cwn Llnch, summiting Pen Y Fan in style), snow (twice), and so cold the Hexpeak was almost solid this morning. Obviously it also rained. Bring on the actual meet now! @NEEpps there's a pub quiz tonight apparently, anyone any good at sport?
10kg all in. Includes 500ml water, rum, meals for three days and too many layers!!
Unhappy that I didn’t get under 10kgs. .... especially having seen @Dave V ‘s TGO packing ...
Have a good trip guys
Ditto, I’ll be painting the front and tiling a floor :/
Linky? ...to @Dave V TGO list ...
Some nice stuff there @Dave V - I really like how you do these vids, amusing, they keep you interested, so many out there I switch off mid way through
You should put this on a TGO kit list thread, plenty to discuss.
On the subject of gear, is that an IKEA Ektorp sittee?...
Have a good one. I’m at a wedding.
Not sure where it came from. The sofa's are probably as old as me. We just make new covers every few years.
