    The next trip will be from Charmonix to Zermatt, as soon as I have some consecutive days off. :)

    @Fair Weather Camper
    I would love to go hiking there. But till next year I have all my finals coming up and one last research project. So there will only be time for shorter trips. :/

    Cool - I imagine it will be :)
    (Yoda moment there :angelic:)
    Fear not, its pretty ancient, and stable geology up there, so its not going anywhere.

    And unless you're a (very) mature student, it sounds like you've got plenty of walking time, and life left in you yet :geek:

    They are some very impressive pictures from your wanderings @Fuchs

    A friend of mine who comes from somewhere in the north of England claims that God used locations such as the Himalaya, Norwegian fjords etc as studios to experiment with landscape design preparatory to the creation of Yorkshire, the ultimate masterpiece. This, he says, explains why nothing can rival Yorkshire scenically, or indeed in any other way.

    To be honest I have a few doubts, but then I am not well travelled enough to be sure.

    As someone who has circumnavigated the planet 3.74 times, and presumably visited all the best bits, I would be interested to know if you agree?

    Thank you very much @dovidola

    As far as I can say Yorkshire is indeed very scenic. There must be a reason it got the nickname as God`s county. I only had the opportunity to be there for a few days. Not many of these were spent hiking. To really evaluate the subject I guess I have to go there again. :pompus::biggrin:

    But to be completely honest, every place has it`s own charm. And I still would not be able to judge any place I visited, because there is just never enough time. The only way to find out is to travel all the bits :D
