Ali Farka Toure :thumbsup::headphone::)

Yes, I've listened to Ali Farka Toure for years. Recently his son (Vieux) has done a few gigs in Glasgow.
First one I went to was with his 'Rock group' - he had an auditorium of Glasgow "grey-hairs" up and boogieing like they were 20 again - and my teenage son (who plays rock guitar) with his mouth hanging open :D.
Recently we caught him at a small gig playing solo (+ wee bit jamming with the support) - all acoustic guitar music of Malian Trad. etc.
I'm hooked and his album "Mon Pays" I highly recommend if you like that type music.:thumbsup:

Popped to Fenwick's at lunch in hope of inspiration for my wife but only managed to find a nice merino cardigan/weird hipster thing for myself instead, but I did manage to order her a Montane featherlight top from sportsshoes and a signed book by her favourite chef while walking back to the car so a not entirely wasted journey:)

2h 40m lunch break and my boss did not even bat an eye :angelic:

Everyone else's presents were bought in the bullring earlier this week.

An artist i like put his prices up by 25% for one day only, perhaps Paul should do that :)

I just need very few small things ( sun glasses, a sun shirt, new glove liners) and I cant be bothered to look at sales this weekend. Might have a peek on monday for non camping related stuff.

Are you into your coffee dovidola?

Not anything like as deeply as some people (particularly in America, to judge by the internet stuff). It's just a simple pot of French Press for me in the mornings, nothing fancier, but I like it to be as good as possible and I'm satisfied that if you grind it fresh it makes a difference. The Baratza, in the short time I've had it, has impressed with the consistency and controllability of the grind, certainly eclipsing my previous (cheaper) machine. Can't beat good kit!

Blah blah blah

It's one of my passions - got to be good coffee.

Bought a vintage Cimbali Microcimbali lever press (from the 70's) at the start of my journey and then another lever press that is up at my unit.

Went onto buy an Expobar machine from a guy in Mexborough (never trust anyone from Mexborough!), £300.00 'there's nowt up with it lad'

Cost a fortune to get it repaired and serviced.

Sold the vintage Cimbali for the price I paid for it and now can't get one for love nor money but the Expobar gives me a couple of double espressos a day, with great single source beans from Coffee Compass.

Methinks if you have a Baratza Virtuosa your being a little understated.

Methinks not! There are more than a few terms in your post (Cimbali, lever press, Expobar, Mexborough, Coffee Compass) which mean diddly squat to me!
