duomid walled inner

The best mod I made to solve the problems with the back wall was attaching shockcord to the bottom of the two back corners and then run it up the seams threading it through grosgrain loops I stitched to the seam line at 10cm intervals. The shockcord ends then threaded through the top apex loop and could be pulled taut with a micro cordlock. This really pulled the back walls out and stopped them from sagging when the morning condensation arrived. It was easy to do with hand stitching.

Unfortunately by the time i had done this I had already given up and decided that pyramid tents dont really work with half inners and are more suited to bivy style camping.

I had pics to demonstrate but looks like they were lost in the great Cloud purge of 2019...cant remember what happened to the inner.

Would a Valley and Peak J zip ultra bivvy work in a Duomid - or is it the wrong shape/configuration?

not as posh as Daves method but to help improve inner pitches on uneven ground,i just have a loop of 4 mm bungy with a lock clasp on..just loop it round inner and pole and pull it tight or pull any slack under it

There was a chap here last year who had a useful looking simple mod for taking up inner slack with 2 small clips and a length of shockcord. He had a YouTube video too. But can't remember his handle.

Edit: It's the above video I was thinking on
Don't know if editing gets rid of tagging

I remember that was it either @Bopdude or @Tartanferret ?
Could be wrong on both of them, had me thinking last night to try the same & I couldn't remember where I'd seen it.
He was using tarp clips I think?

@EM - Tacblades ?...

I've been tweeking the 3FUL inner to try and get it to fit the Astamid and the MLD Trailstar as it's not a perfect fit for either. The solution I came up with was to use a piece of bungee cord with a tarp clip on either end and attach each end to the back seams of the inner tent, I then loop the bungee cord through the carabiner / clip in the apex of the trailstar / astamid to pull the inner taut. It's quite hard to explain but there's a visual demo at 3:10 into this video -

Yes!
