Hello friends,
So whilst it is raining im dreaming of summer and have recently discovered that there is a long distance trail here in Croatia, 2.5k kms in total. It covers really amazing landscapes of many varieties, from wine growing and agricultural plains in the danube basin to continental climate forested hills to the dry rocky mountains that run parallel to the adriatic coast. It closely bypasses the capital and many other beautiful settlements and sites, its really becoming a dream of mine.
The association that organise it is small and fairly new, and it is modelled on the PCT experience of the founder (there's even a trail angels facebook group) so navigation seems to totally be on this app called Guthook. I am fairly loathe to rely on a mobile phone whilst walking and have asked if there is a GPX file but wanted to ask if anyone has any experience with Guthook at all? I get the advantages over a GPX file but just wary of the idea of committing to some very wild areas with just my cheap smartphone to keep me on the straight and narrow. I think the cost for the whole route is 25 doll hairs so maybe I should just buy it and see what I find, but I really would like to have it backed up with a track on my Garmin!
Any experience or advice?
