Another new one!! I only joined so I could buy a As Tucas blanket at a knock down price!! :p

But since then I've been reading and reading.

So....I live in the east of the Brecon Beacons. Always been a mountain day walker, so never thought about weight before.
But this year i've been walking the Beacons Way in three stages with a few others (hi if you're lurking on here too!!) carrying all our gear with overnight camps! Learned so much and loved it. Walking the last three days over a long weekend next month.
So what have I learned so far from it?? .... feet... oh yes, without feet we are nothing. Pamper them, protect them and make sure your boots/shoes fit - that extra weight makes such a difference.
Secondly weight. Wow... the contents of my backpack now are very different to what I carried on my first weekend - you really do learn the hard way!!
The whole group of us are also very different now to the group who first set out in June. We've all learned so much and the experience has given us the confidence to really push ourselves!

    Currently obsessing about water purification...

Looking forward to learning loads more!

    Welcome @pippic

Water purification is cool. It means you end up carrying far less water, which is one big weight saving for comparatively little outlay.

    Welcome to the forum!

I'm happy to know that our sale also ended up in a new forum member :)

Carrying less weight opens up a lot of new opportunities: you can go longer, faster, higher... and what's more important in a safer and more comfortable way.

Welcome. Lovely to have another female on TL …… we were (once upon a time) a bit male dominated but that's changing :)

…….. not that you guys aren't lovely too (mostly ;))

Thanks everyone! Beacons Way was dry on the first leg, but last weekend it threw everything at us!
There are a lot more women getting out and about in groups and solo so hopefully we'll get more joining or just lurking and learning like I did before!
I've got so many questions... but I promise not to flood the forum! :bag:
