@Shewie drove us up to Langdale on Friday. It looked a little claggy as we drove up the valley. Lingmoor fell's summit was just about visible.

The first snowflakes fell as we arrived on site, so we got the bergan teepee up swiftish. I used my little waterproof Ricoh PX for these pics.

With the kit in place, we headed over to the Old Dungeon Ghyll for a couple of pints.

Then it was back to cook dinner on the superb scandinavian woodstove.
*RED MEAT ALERT* Vegans look away now.

After a good scoff and some more beers, we slept well and warm. I was greeted by this view from the sleeping bag on Saturday morning.

I'll get the pics off the other camera and continue the TR later.

Parked up at old Dungeon early doors on Saturday myself, was only the 2nd set of prints in the fresh snow up onto Scafell going from Mickledon, cracking day despite the fog. Where did you go?

We had a feeling Sunday would be the day for the tops, so we just pottered down the valley and round into Little Langdale and back. Good on you for getting up Scafell on Saturday!

A few pics from a misty Saturday. We strolled down to Chapel Stile via the Lingmoor fell side of the valley. It was... atmospheric

For some warm refreshment at the Wainwrights.

Before strolling round towards little Langdale, where we found the Three Shires Inn to be closed. Nice view there though.

Not to be frustrated, we headed for the Britannia in Elterwater. From there, I enterprisingly blagged us a lift up the road back to the ODG.

Sunday was a clearer day with the high tops visible.

@Shewie and I split off to do different walks. He headed for Mickelden and the Stake pass while I sauntered down the valley and ascended Stickle gill.

Here's the panorama stitch-up of 8 photos I took of Pavey Ark and Stickle Tarn. This is the little version, rather than the full 40MP version.
When I was a sprightly young thing, I climbed Jack's rake, which runs from the bottom of the big gulley on the right, diagonally leftwards up the face of the crag.

On Sunday, my bad back and dodgy hip only just got me to the tarn and back. :(

Cracking picture, the snow just sets it off :)

Thanks. Yes, the thin dusting of snow was just right. Brings out the detail in the scree and crag face. Light was nice too... for about 20 minutes.

Oooh. I do like this pano-stitching program I've found. You might want to full-screen in a new tab and scroll across with the bottom slider.
