Montane have opened an Outlet Store at their offices near Ashington, Northumberland if anyone lives nearby. The store will be open Thursdays and Fridays 9 – 5 and Saturdays 9 – 4.

They used to have one, but closed it about 3 years ago switching to occasional factory sales instead (at the last one, the queues were a nightmare)

The old Outlet store wasnt too bad.

Fairly sure they have, there was pics on the website somewhere. Short opening hours on a Saturday. Once I was going to email them to say I would call in and give them a list of what I wanted to try on.

Thought I would have a quick look in when driving past.

Basically a mixture of samples with some full price gear, limited sizes on the samples. If you were starting out you could spend a fortune. Some deals:-
    - Montane Alpinist sleeping bag £170 instead of £400
    - Prism sleeping bag, think about £100
    - Ultra 22 rucksacks for £28, Grand Toure rucksack £50...
    - Extreme Mitts (better than Buffalo?..) for £14, only medium but surprisingly nearly fit...
    - A few other race bags, travel shirts, insulation bargains....

Got the wife a Montane Fireball hat for christmas ...£10!

    Email today:-
Just a quick email to say that we are planning another of the Montane ‘Seconds’ sales in the usual place, at the Montane HQ (not in the new shop).

The sale is planned for Saturday December 13th, 9am – 4pm

As usual, I expect that a queue will start to build up a couple of hours before opening time, so bring your fold out chairs and bacon sarnies!

Went here recently, haven't been for ages. Its moved premises 200 yards away, about 4 times bigger now. Loads in but the mens sizes still a bit restrictive.

Would be ideal if you were starting out and needed a load of gear.

I popped in there on the way whilst I was up in Northumberland

I'm a medium so samples etc are usually good for me, but I'm tall so trousers are often a problem for leg length

They had quite a good range of stuff but it's not worth a special trip, only if you're nearby. You can phone ahead to find out what they have or if you're looking for something special. I only popped in for a browse, I ended up buying a warm fleece hoodie and a very lightweight zip up fleece (the sort of thing I'd been looking for)
