I noticed on my TS that each reinforcement patch on the main seams has been pulled at the stitching quite alot where it has almost ripped through to the end in most & has done so it a few like this

Is there anything that can be done to fix this easily?
I may send an email off to ron cause its less than a year old & I don't think that these where up to the pull that needs to get the tarp taut.

Interesting, there's no gridstop fabric in your apex?

The apex has the grid stop & seems fine, these are the main tieouts points where its just some ripstop silnylon stitched onto ripstop silnylon, where the pressure has just ripped though it

Ah sorry my bad, I thought that was your apex turned inside out

    My interpretation of what's occuring:
Due to the fact that the tieouts are inline with a felled seam, the seam is taking the strain - reinforcement patch is doing nothing but being pulled. And because the seam is on the bias, it stretches more than the patch which is on the square, so it's ripping it out?

I don't think it really needs reinforcement there. Better would be if the tieouts tape was run further up the seam. Like Tramplite or Rayway do.

Mole has nailed it; seam is on the bias but patch isn't. Compounding the issue is lack of hem on the patch, causing the weave to seperate. If the patch was hemmed or there was more seam allowance, it wouldn't do this.

I'd wipe some silicone sealant over these pulled parts to hold it together. Structurally I think it's a non issue, if it ever rips it likely to do so nearer the tie-out.

Just got word back from ron, he's going to send me out a replacement at the end of next week. I asked him about hemming the patches but doesn't seem like he will, he also wants me to cut up this one & send him photos. Think I'll wait for the replacement before that.

A nice gesture and a good result for you but what a shame, to cut up a much coveted bit of kit such as this :(

Think the same kind of thing happened when people used reinforcements on membrane silpoly made from more sturdy fabric that didn't stretch as much
