I know it's been asked before but I can't find the post.

In the US I used the awesome 1l Smartwater bottles for backpacking with. They mated with my Sawyer squeeze perfectly. I loved them but of course I didn't bring any with me.
I'm looking at the 1l Sw bottles here and they have a wider mouth.

Which 1l bottles that similar in shape will mate with the Sawyer squeeze here in the UK? They have to be 1l as I have to carry enough water for me and two dogs, which often means toting 2l minimum.

Any bottle which has fizzy pop (sodas) carbonated spring water which has the standard 28mm top which fits? Including the carbonated Smart water bottles. It's the still smartwater bottles that don't fit.

Yeah, for some reason the majority, maybe all?? Of the water bottles in the UK have wider tops, most carbonated drinks have regular tops.

Most of the foldable bottles will fit perfectly, e.g. Source liquatainer, or Evernew...

Thanks. I just wanted to be sure before I started buying stuff I won't drink just to check things out.

I have Evernew flex bottles for my dirty water/extra water but don't like them for my clean water (too much of a pain to try and get them back into the pocket while wearing the pack).

I end up finding lots of disgarded smaller fizzy drinks bottles on my routes, never a shortage.

So many of the bottle that will take a Sawyer don't have the lovely flat base of the Smart Water bottle, a minor thing but I do like that flat base. :)

As you have dirty water bottles that connect to the Sawyer, why do you need the smart water (clean) bottle to connect to it as well?

    Is it for day hikes?

I use the smart 850s as light drinking bottles, but I just fill them from the sawyer and never connect the two together.

Just seems you already have the solution in separate clean/dirty containers?

Because I have the connector that goes on the opposite end (the clean water/ bottle cap end) of the Sawyer filter that connect all three together and makes filtering water a MUCH easier process, rather than trying to guide the stream of clear water into a tiny hole. The Evernew bottles are only for dirty water...as mentioned they are not easy to put back in the pocket without taking the pack off.

47g for the litre 36g for the 850.

It's a shame you have the Squeeze and not the Mini.
With the Mini, Smartwater bottles push fit onto the spout,

(Ignore the yellow bit, that's just a drilled out cap, so I can fit standard 28mm pop bottles),

You could make your own adapter, using a 28mm lid and the larger Smartwater lid epoxied back to back, then drilled thru.

That's too complicated. I have the connector and have now found bottles to fit (even if they don't have the nice flat bottom of the Smartwater bottles).
I have no interest in the mini...too slow. I already complain about how long it takes to filter water...lol

Mr Mole said it correctly in the 2nd post

Unfortunately you don't get carbonated drinks in flat bottomed bottles, they bulge out under pressure.

Surely all the bottles are flat at the bottom, otherwise they'd fall off the shelves :whistling: :D

My bottom isn't flat, I don't fall off shelves. :p
