To be fair, the tyvek tipi's first outing will be on a car camping trip with a hex3 backup in the boot.

What do people prefer about this over the YMG 1P Cirriform SW in Dyneema? I know it's about 100g lighter but the Cirriform is built in 0.8oz DCF, which as well as being stronger also has a supposedly better PET film?*
I do like the way the side vents can be open and closed on the Cirriform (https://www.facebook.com/yamamountaingear/videos/10159766552440144/)

*I know the Cirriform isn't available right now but YMG seems to get overlooked for some reason I've never been able to understand.

    It's a tunnel tent.

I'm guilty of overlooking YMG William, not sure why. I'll take a look though

From looking at other video reviews, the closeable side vents are a more recent feature. Neat.

LOL, if you'd seen the state of my face masks recently you wouldn't say that Cathy :)

Some of my MYO isn't that pretty on close inspection - but it's good for the job and that's all that matters.
Start with some tyvek …… :whistling:

I've seen the howf and it looked pretty good to me

I'll try most things once but it's clear I wasn't born to sew :)

I like that system. You have the 2P don't you William? Would you say wind resistance/deflection is good? On par with Dupe (you may remember I'm a Duplex owner), or surpasses it do you reckon?

No, I don't have the 2P Cirriform; I have a 2P Swiftline, which is a very different beast. (I'd say the Swiftline is better than the Duplex in wind as long as it isn't oriented with the vestibule directly into the wind. And the second part is speculation as I've never had it oriented like that.)
The build quality of the Swiftline is very good. Mine is the older version in silnylon.
@FOX160 has a Cirriform on the way; maybe it's arrived now?

Thanks. Seems like the site is pretty quiet at the moment.

Hi @WilliamC unfortunately not yet, Yama are still waiting for the Cuben fibre to come in and anyone wanting the Cuben fibre Cirriform is best to contact them due to the high demand. Agree the 2P Swiftline is a great tent, before this we had the Mo-Trail, but for space and unrestricted movement inside the Swiftline wins it.

I would say the Cirriform beats the hell out the pro trail, from build quality alone and agree, unsure to why Yama get over looked. Just a shame they’ve stopped selling overseas.
Forgotten to add I've always been offered the 0.5 Cuben version.
