What this old thing? - Wish List

I wonder if using such light fabrics will negate the benefits of it being 3-layer, particularly when it wets out. Regardless, 100g is very impressive.

Looks like a deflated baloon when the corner struts are removed.loses its shape and integrity.Personally I use a walking pole if the weather permits.Who detatches the inner? unless its tipping it down outside.

My thoughts exactly. Would keep inner attached and just use walking pole for porch mode.

One on ebay at the moment in think ?

Can't afford anything at the moment. It's on my consideration list though for when I'm flush again :)

I like the look of it and weight for single hooped tent is quite good. Obviously you sacrifice the robustness of the Akto etc for weight advantage but should still stand up according to the tests Nordisk have done in wind tunnels.

cant reduce photo file size or I'd post some pics Adz (surely you can tell me how to do it:D)

Use the "Upload a file" button next to the reply button bud. Alternatively use a image host like IMGur or Photobucket etc then use the link in the image option in top toolbar next to the Smilie :)

The forum software should reduce the size rather than giving you an error, but for reasons I don't understand it doesn't seem to work very well. The server has resources to resize images up to about 14Mb, which should be ample for most photos, Tony is tied up with other things at the moment but we'll figure it out soon enough.

If it's giving that error there may be difference in usergroup options/privileges etc. I haven't used forums scripts in years but I can remember it being a pain in the arse trying to find all the secondary non-global settings. They were usually filed away under Z.

^ Looks like one of my Mids when pitched on a small hillock. If the Mid end panels are lower than the middle of the long panels, it creates excess material that has to be pulled out from the normal rectangular shape to a slight hexagonal shape in order to keep the material taut.

I'll keep an eye on this one, always interesting to see what they come up with...

Great pic and pitch.lovely light.
Heading roughly that direction in a fortnight.

Front loader? Not good dryish access in rain though?

The shaped edges look a good feature. There are a couple of shelters on Aliexpress with similar double curved edges. ( by Axemen and Knot Outdoors)

^ Yeah, really lovely surroundings, great marketing material.

In rain, my MO is to get the outer set-up, dive in and then get sorted inside, same procedure reversed when striking camp, so I'm just left with fly and pegs to pack, with everything else already stowed inside my pack liner.

So I could probably cope with the design if the entrance zips were two way and the vent was extended at a shallow angle to at least allow the door to be opened from the top for a view from inside when raining.

Maybe the length of the Mid is longer to create some vestibule space? Although the end panels don't look any shallower than the competition. An asymmetrical Mid with a steeper door panel might be interesting?

I know what you mean about strategies for coping in rain, but I do enjoy having an open door view. Completely possible in certain rain conditions with a lot of tents I've used.

^ I could have lent them my 7 piece pack rod for the shoot and it wouldn't have looked like the pack had a stove pipe/flue.
