Just seen these,

£31.04 41%OFF | Naturehike Outdoor Ultralight Walking Stick Protable Hiking Carbon Fibers Trekking Poles 3 Section Outer Lock Stick Skiing Stick
https://s.click.aliexpress.com/e/_d6E29tx

145g ( in large ) for flick lock poles is I think very good. My old alpkit carbonlites were only slightly lighter and used unreliable twistloc system.
These are the same 12-14-16 size so not burley, and the heads aluminium with tungsten insert.
Not silly cheap at £30 each.

@Enzo What's the max length of the three section poles?

Edit, found the chart under a million images.

I think the alpkit twistlocs that you can get down to 137g are £50, I'd pay more for flip locks at a similar weight. But you'd expect buying from China to be cheaper than buying from a uk based reseller, like alpkit.
AK also do 150cm long carbon/alloy bottom poles for I think 40 and a good weight. Might be useful for those with duel pole single apex shelters

Some homework for you...

Interesting article, thanks. The money quote:
"If undergarment conductivity is neglected, then a diver can get the same amount of insulation from air as argon if they increase the thickness of their underwear by about 50% ( 1 / 0.67 = 1.48) to cancel the higher conductivity of air. Realistically, when undergarment and water vapor conductivity are considered, the difference in thickness is not this large."

Conclusion: Forget the sweaty Argon inflated vest and buy yourself some nice alpha with the savings.

I have my eye on this bike, but change tires and go single speed (seen too many broken Deraillers in the middle of nowhere)

#Poorriders or #bornunlucky?
I've allegedly rode hard and far in the past (not bikepacking.. Just busting miles of hard trails... Along with buddies or without... Never managed to bust a derailleur or seen or heard of one being busted)

Gotta go with Chissy on this mate
Been riding and racing bikes for 40 years, it's rare for a dérailleur to fail

Recon i've only had 2 fail, 1 hit a tree stump (crash) other from chain suck

Both times i was able to ride the bike back (finish the race with the tree stump one)

If it fails you just shorten the chain and the bikes ridable again
15mins

Used to carry a spare breakaway bolt for years, but i don't even have a spare one at home now

Saying that, i've tried single speeds and my knees just can't take it, this when i was younger, at 52 my knees crack just thinking about it :biggrin::biggrin::biggrin::biggrin:

I was tempted by exactly that bike last year @FOX160 and want to have a look at Ribble in the mailbox, Birmingham.

The frame is lovely, really nice colour and finish.
I was waiting for them to release their carbon fork and then got distracted and bought something else.

Don't fall for their balls about tripples being great, they are pants and always have been :D

But single speed is just pants.
Once you have tried a 1X drivetrain then you will never look back. Just having all your gears sequentially in a line is a godsend.

I have bust one derailleur myself but that was thro running a dodgy part to destruction which was inevitable, it ended up in the back wheel iirc. Haven't bust one since.

@gixer I know you don't like the expense and faff of changing, but when your stuff wears out look at a cheapish 1X and I think you will be impressed.

Even current Deore is on a par with old XT.
AND you can team it with a hope single lever and run both calipers from one lever. I think it's even i-spec compatible so you could even have it all running from just one bar clamp to cover all your shifting and breaking needs. Think of that weight saving... Bin a shifter, a front mech and a brake lever all in one go.
