Worldbackpacker and Ultralightoutdoorgear?

Googling this weekend as weather bad and looking for a new light summer wind shirt. Later on a search for ME Aerofoil throws up result from Worldbackpacker. I always look at 'about us' etc as check before considering a purchase https://www.worldbackpacker.co.uk/about-us-i824.
Hang on I think that showroom looks like UOG's: https://www.ultralightoutdoorgear.co.uk/showroom-i198
Looking at real address after you then realise they are one and same place.

So 2 questions from this:

1. How sad am I and how much time do I spend on internet that I spot duplicate showroom photos? :o o:

2. Is this normal for a single shop to have 2 outward facing fronts? I have heard of car companies having 2 brands as one is posh and high-end while the other appeals to a different market but a shop with same stock etc? How odd.

Well spotted :)

1) very, but well done ;) joke :)
2) I suppose the more websites and different 'tags' the more possible customers may find you, that's a guess mind :)

Makes sense to me. Worldbackpacker is clearly aimed at the other type of backpacking. They're not "carrying" exactly the same stock, rather stock aimed at the respective markets (no Fkjallraven packs on UOG, for example). They also have the Basecamp gear site.

I see UOG are now stocking the Gossamer gear packs at last . BPPL beat them to it some
years ago now. The Mariposa is one of my favourite packs . My Scarp 1 and Strat 1 fit perfectly
into the long side pocket ( not together ! ) . Wish they could stock Henry's tents like some other EU countries .

Oh I see. I did not realise this was a thing. Now that you point to a 3rd site I suppose it makes sense as I would not really classify myself as an ultralight hiker but used them as good source of outdoor kit. Their name did not deter me 1st time but if you were browsing perhaps someone would go elsewhere?

I had no idea companies did this. Makes a lot of sense though. I would have assumed it was a scam site or something :o o: Just noticed this at the bottom of basecampgear:
