I can see a T zip would be an advantage... the standard inner has a half opening... Mmmm

Just buy the outer from backpackinglight. Get a green one (the brown looks like Birds Angel Delight chocolate flavour to me). Then an AliExpress inner of your choice, which will save you 200-250g. Then swap out the supplied (2mm) cord at the guying points for 3mm polypropylene cord - this is important.
Seam seal if that's your thing - I've never bothered.
Joking aside, my respect for this tent grows with every outing.

TBH I found a single bathtub inner (from and SL1) enough for my Hex / SL3. So I was hoping to purchase a fly only and perhaps just add an inner of choice. Unfortunately backpackinglight’s site says they don’t have any ‘fly only’ available...
I’ll give them a call.

They should have the fly only option back in stock before long.
AliExpress is the Chinese Amazon, so yes, pretty much everything there is from China. I have both the solid and mesh versions of the 3F UL T-zip single inner, and currently have a new Asta inner on order which, if it lives up to expectations, will fit even better.

This is the inner I am waiting on delivery from Ali express ....
It's a few grams heavier than the @Diddi has but I am hoping having the use of the dead corner will pay off.

Currently dithering on purchasing one. I’ll may, or may not, ‘pull the trigger’ on shopping cart after a beer tonight
However, if anyone can save me from myself and offer up a used jobbie, then I’d give it some thought. In fact if someone can tell me that they’re dreadful and not worth it... even better

No, I’m dithering about getting fly only. I’ve been on AliExpress looking the other inners. I’ll buy the whole shebang, inner an’ all and see how it goes.

Those asta hex's with the double doors do not look too bad. Not heard anyone say the original asta mid is rubbish, I'm using my khufu clone one tomorrow for 4 nights

That looks a nice bit of kit... hmmm..
I like the fact it has double doors. That would clear the condensation in the morning.

Yes and no.
I found it tricky to manoeuvre around the pole at times and the inner was a faff.
But its a really nice tent in many ways.
