Jib.... Sail .... Cut of the jib refers to liking or not liking a sail on a ship, as it is either an enemy or a friend, depending on the jib... and how its cut.
If someone say... I like the cut of your jib... It suggests that they see you as a friendly sort

Funny that, every time I'm in Tod some locals tell me its warmer/dryer/less snow etc than London... :D;)
And yes, welcome here :)
haha theres some pretty enlightened locals haha! it pretty much rains everyday haha
