Shelter News - a thread for new shelter talk

Looks almost identical to the Six Moon Designs Lunar solo (video link below). The main difference was the separate inner but with the hybrid single skin design of the LanShan 1 pro that difference is removed. Strange how photos/video of the LanShan typically show a more taut pitch than the Lunar Solo?

This video suggests that, contrary to my earlier gracious concession, in fact @Clare was right and @edh and @dovidola were wrong. It does have a separate inner. Or was that an earlier version of the Lanshan 1?

Looks like the bathtub is nearly 240cm (8 foot). I'm thinking that maybe with the tie outs at the foot and head it might be big enough to a 6 footer.

Certainly I'll let you know what it's like when I get it. Quick pitch in the garden, and if I still like it after that it should get used 'properly' next year (those manufacturer's pics of it in the snow notwithstanding), by which time I daresay I'll have been beaten to it by hardier souls.

Confusion sorted @Clare - the new model is the Lanshan 1 Pro (single skin), with the existing Lanshan 1 (double) continuing alongside it. 3F UL have indicated that a Lanshan 2 Pro is on its way, a single skin version of the existing Lanshan 2. There's also talk of a Lanshan 3 in development.

In the specification tab on Ali-Express it indicates that its a double skin - https://www.aliexpress.com/item/400...chweb0_0,searchweb201602_5,searchweb201603_52

Hi, I´m using the SMD Lunar Solo. A big difference to the LanShan is that the LanShan has three seams in the back panel. In the middle one a guy line is attached.
When the wind is from the back, the LanShan will stay better in shape I think. I had a big storm with my Lunar Solo and the interior became half the size it should be...
Cheers!

I think tramplite got the back right on this style of shelter. Seam at the center and more aerodynamic.

Offtopic but travelling in China, specially in bigger cities and being 180 cm did not feel being tall at all. I ran into a Chinese junior basketball team in airport and I felt like Frodo.

Yeah, the elderly people are short but it probably has to do something with Chairman Mao's experiments with food rations and other agricultural exploits.

I'm about 185.

Looking at this closely and the later tape measure video, I recon it is similar in sleeping length to Hexpeak V4a which is just a tad short for me sleeping on an Alpkit Dumo. Which is why I'm close to pulling the trigger on selling it (the Hexpeak). I'd be in the market if they did an XL version though.

Great news for all those tent-spotters out there: the Lanshan (ordinary) can be identified by its black apex vent cover, whereas the Lanshan Pro has its cover the same colour as the tent body.

Hi Phil -although the ends slope in, 233cm is a decent length for an inner. What tent/inner do you usually use?
