Darn Tough Socks

Does anyone here use these? If so which specific ones have you found to be good particularly for trail shoe use.

I was just about to order some and became slightly bewildered by the choice.

The 'lifetime' guarantee works too. I'm now on my third replacement pairs - funny shaped big toe means mine wear through there quicker.

Liked mine, they disappeared off the hotel balcony in Mallorca during a gale. I'd left them out drying... Was gutted at the time but having soldiered on with my 'spare' decathlon running socks for the next two soggy days, (they were fine) not since seen the need to replace them.

I think the 18 pound ones are the same just higher. They look the right mix of fibres and style. The PT ones are very low cut for physical training/exercising what we call PE here. If you are going to have wet feet and it's not freezing the lower are better I reckon. But wow that's bloody expensive. Amazon US had some PTs a while back. On the phone at the beach at the moment maybe search DT PT sock US? See if you can get a better price.
I save mine for proper walks and beat the hell out of some Nylon ones that look identical. Do you have the MAXX brand there? Three pairs for a fiver!

Darn tough merino 1/4 socks light cushion socks for summer and winter for several years now. Tried the heavier darn tough socks but found them less comfortable. Mine dry overnight in most conditions which is another big plus for me apart from comfort in all temperature ranges.

I’ve been using DT’s for a couple of years, micro crews I think.

Has anybody this side of the pond managed to blag a replacement pair when they’ve worn out? Can they be returned to any retailers who stock them or do they need to go back to the US? I’m guessing there’s some hefty shipping costs both ways to consider if not?

I've had two pairs replaced. You can download the claim form via the link on this page.

Received a pair of the Grit 1/4 socks today. I got size large and my feet are 10 - 10.5. The Darn Tough size guide says large is 10 to 12. Which I guess is US size and 12 US = 11 UK so they should fit fine but they are just a bit tight. Especially across one panel which is less stretchy than the rest of the sock, see pic.

I've been out and done my second day of RED January in them and they are otherwise comfortable. Maybe I just have a big instep/ankle.

Unfortunately they will shrink a little in the first wash too.

I'm a 10, L are spot on for me, somebody gave me a medium pair last year as a present, I get away with them but tend to shy away from wearing them if I can help it,

Ordered a couple of pairs of the ones I linked (up the thread somewhere) last night

Bought a pair from LOS the other day. Like PhilHo, I'm finding them tighter than expected but not uncomfortably so; I prefer socks a teeny bit tight than too loose. Anyway, this forum is expensive!
