Greeting to every one here in the (wet) Pennines original home of textiles cottage industry! Since I became a dad.I don't get out as much but I really appreciate that time I previously took for granted. I'm into a bit of cycling (on or off road). Walking, and would like to get back into camping.and climbing now my 'sprouts' are getting into it as well.. I have been making gear since Pennine outdoors were originally based near Huddersfield. Sometimes lighter, feature rich or just longer in the arms and body, but never as waterproof.... My first proper pack survived 2 week overloaded as a treking as used by my beloved on our honey moon, and us still going strong as a climbing pack...it was just sent to be a 'alpine sack'.
My next project are bike-packing bags, tarp tent pogies... Renewing anklet gaiters (under-rated...)...good job I have just aquired singer industrial machine (20Uxx...).

Keep sharing ideas make the most if your time out door.. and ii put my Two Penn'ith in...

Remember theres nobsuch thing as bad weather just too much of the wrong sort at the wrong time.

Cheers everyone. For Adz and anyone else who's interested.
The pack I made in 1996...
Front view. Fixed length harness
Back 2 compartments. Top load with zip
access as narrow bodied. PVC waterproofed base. Internal frame...
Side view lots of strap to attach climbing gear, poles, etc.
The lid was floating/ extendable. And the straps reinforced to spread load on shoulder and hips.
Still the best load carrier I have come across. .. When needs must..

No worries, some of that was in in Yorkshire Ridings before the land grab in 1974,( ahmm, boundary realignment, From the unruly western counties....
But if your from old Westmoreland, Cumberland other old Yorkshire riding then 'sommat reet comes a'thee.' You must be a Mara then?
Had some good times up that way. Between Carlisle -Sedburgh and anywhere in between.
Funny how a spat between 2 lords ,who really weren't from those counties, just houses of Lancaster and York, has influence rivalries across the Pennines... Something similar happened in Europe between 2 Teutonic cousins 100yrs ago making the 'Great war'.... Major,Don't mention the war' asBasil Faulty said...:muted:

I was born and bred in "Lanky" :angelic::smug:.
Think we had better stop the 'politics' now, or we'll be arguing about how to make tea next :whistling::whistling::whistling::D.

That my point a spat between 2 lords 600 years ago or so, has affected relations between us 'commoners'... At least we're all Northerners...:D ;). (Retreats carefully ...)
