Pa'lante Packs

New USA cottage industry packs designed by a couple of guys (Andrew Bentz and John Zahorian) who like to walk long distances at a fast pace. Nice looking ultra-light packs but you may need a good sized bank account to be able to afford one over here (£210 - $250).

I kind of want the 35 litre one but can't quite make a case for it.

Really expensive for a simple pack. Looks good and I like the bottom pocket, I've been trying to work out how to do similar but without having a stretch mesh that will rip easily. Ula cdt or Zimmerbuilt quickstep offer much better value imo.

That was my first thought exactly.

A lot of money for not a lot of pack?

Looking at Tarptent post is between $61 to $72 Dollars. But then you have the exchange rate too.

I'd need a car to even come close but John Z actually managed to do that on foot. FKT is not my thing. :) Also John Zahorian's ideas about food and mine don't line-up. I'd need several resupplies in that distance. (I'd also be missing showers)

I'd still buy the Simple pack if I won the lottery.

Looked at John z'ds gear list, refreshing. only flash gear he seems to use is a cuben shelter and kat quilt. rest seems all diy or out of supermarkets . like his YouTube stuff too

I paid $35 in 2008 for an unused MLD silnylon prototype pack which weighs 4.5oz including hipstrap. It now has a few tape patches but is still fine. This 'simple pack' is an insane price for a small basic rolltop pack
