I've just got a tin for camping - never used it before. Re mixing it; do you add the powder to your freshly brewed coffee or your coffee to the powder? And how much for a mug?

If your using it in fresh brewed, it doesn't matter at all.

If it's instant, Never premix it with the coffee powder or top up both with very hot water; it will seperate.

For use with instant, add coffee after boiling water, premix with water, or use well cooled water.

Nido is qute forgiving, much more so than dried skimmed/whitener and the Natco type.

I use about a teaspoon for an average coffee. Hot choc with cocoa powder needs a lot more.

Big spoonful too the made brew . Unless you use it all very quickly it’s best once tin is open to pour it in a zip lock bag, keeps longer

In that case I may try storing it in a 250ml Nalgene bottle as that would be less vulnerable. I use these for sugar, coffee and sometimes even meths.

I bought a bloody expensive (because I'm sophisticated:)) 250ml bottle of pineapple, mango and coconut juice from M&S just so I could use the bottle as a nido mixer, got to say its worked a treat, lasted through the CWT and many walks since, goes in the dishwasher every time I get home and hardly looks any worse for it.

I just pour a wad of powder in the wide bottle mouth, add water and shake it like a maddie, no lumps, either add more powder or water to get my preferred taste. I tend to make enough for two or three brews at a time and just carry it around like a wee bottle of milk.

Daughter text me the other day to say she saw nido in sainsbury's for £3 and did I want a tin, she hasn't brought it round yet so I haven't a clue what size of tin it is:rolleyes:20190821_192817.jpg
