It has been tough to convince Drop to offer the solid inner. I was so close with the 2P but a new manager cancelled it shortly before launch out of fears they couldn't sell enough. I think that's clearly not the case, but they wanted to start with just mesh. I'll continue to push for it. It's their call because they are the ones producing and selling these, so hopefully I can convince them. I do mention it regularly.

If I found a way to offer an inner that was all solid fabric except for mesh on the top half of the doors, would that work for everyone? Or do some people want 100% solid fabric? Obviously it would be easier to satisfy this interest if one partial solid inner works for most everyone.

Mesh for the top half of the door is preferable and most European tents have that configuration

I agree, that would work well, at least for me.

forgive me if this isn’t allowed but I’m selling a new, UK based xmid over at r/ulgeartrade if anyone is in need before the next batch. Thanks x

Okay, so this is probably a not very good idea. There was talk about having custom poles for those who don't use hiking poles.

I just bought a mop and it came with detachable aluminium tubing. The sections are about 30cm each and weigh 37g each. The assembly is similar to fold away hiking poles without the tensioner cord inside. This would mean 148g for the tubing alone. Just would need a tip for the pointy end and maybe modify the handle to be flat. I don't know how strong it is, but for the cost, it might be worth a try? Mop itself costs £10

Here's the product link.

My preference is a full solid inner but that would still definitely be good enough so that would work. I would absolutely buy an X-mid with both inners if you can make that happend. And if I have to buy the solid inner from somewere else than Drop that would be OK.
