The "what have you made today" thread

@Shewie looks good..overheating possibly...melt?

Not too sure, I haven't lit it yet but I'll have a play and report back, I guessed the shape and size would be okay but wasn't sure how it would attach to the burner head, seems a broken paperclip does the trick nicely.

It needs some venting adding for sure

Just thought I'd give it a whirl, my father in law just gave me a 100 pack of pie cases he had left from his butchering days

I'm glad I'm not the only paranoid hiker here ;)
Having lost a couple of compasses & 2 wallets (inc CC's & driving license) over the past 5 or 6 years, probably by pulling other stuff out of the same pocket, I've learned to have a place for everything & have them clipped in. Half a dozen mitten hooks cost buttons & weight almost nothing.
Shamelessly pinched the clip-in pouch idea from Zpacks, it will be reassuring to be able to stow all the goodies that are normally not needed along the trail somewhere safe; I've also a neck/ torso strap so that the detached 'wallet' can come along to the pub, trailhead shopping, etc.

I "finished" my pack today. I'm just waiting on some additional webbing and buckles to make a elastic cord sternum strap.
Weight 395gr
Sewn with tera 60 with water repellent coating. I'm hoping it won't be necessary to coat the seems. But I'm not sure. It's the first time I used this thread.

The main compartment is about 30L. The side pockets..... Are a stupid mistake... I really don't know what I was thinking. I made them to small. I calculated the height but didn't include the depth. So with a water bottle there is just a few cm of height left :banghead::banghead::banghead:
I'll just make a shoulder pocket for a bottle...

The main seams are rolled and felled. The back panel seam is binded with ribbon.
The shoulder straps attach with 5cm webbing. This allows the straps to adapt to the shoulders. And should add a bit on comfort. It also has load shifters to pull the weight to the shoulders.
A roll top with 2 snaps and a buckle.
A removable 25mm "hipbelt"
Spandex front pocket
Ice axe loop and cord lock with hook
The bottom has 4 small loops with elastic cord
And 2 side compression cords.

On the inside there are 4 small webbing loops. You could attach some cord to attach for a foam sheet or a folded sleeping pad.

Here some pics

It's for sale at cost price (around 50€ I think). It's not a professional made pack so mistakes will be visible. ;)

Not backpacking related SOWWY but one of the reasons I have not been around much.

New job is 100% working from home and I needed to update my office to have room for the equipment and working requirements of new role so I made a new desk. Similar desks on Etsy and other places online were upwards of £400, more for the size I wanted/made. The desk cost £176 all in to make and I'm pretty happy with it.

Solid Oak top and rustic solid steel legs.

A coffee filter 8g. Garden wire and fuse wire to wrap the handle. South African style but no beads for weight considerations.

Recent talk on a coffee thread stated that you get a better brew with a soak in rather than drip through filter. So I’m abandoning the GSI filter which is quite fiddly to use and needs a stable (heavier) cup.
