Looks like GoOutdoors have a offer on the Microlight jacket and selling it at £75!! That is an amazing price as I paid £150 not long ago!!

So if you're looking to grab a down jacket for Winter you should maybe consider this before price goes back up.

Indeed. I'm tempted to get another as a spare. There is only one color though but can't grumble at that price.

Its a nice jacket but IMO there are better options.:)
Down is for cold and dry, so if its that cold, then i surely you want something warmer?.. if its not that cold, then a synthetic (if damp) or thinner down would be better?...
Many will have a different opinion, i just couldnt see where it would fit in my wardrobe, there was always something better to take...:)...i had the vest version but eventually ebayed it (bizarrely the winning bid was more than i paid for it, and more than i found doing a quick google)

I like the jacket because I prefer the modular approach instead of having a huge jacket that will make me too hot. With the microlight you can take other layers of underneath to regulate. Also to be perfectly honest the microlight is perfectly adequate for most peoples outings in UK. Anything more is just overkill for most people. I also use it as a street jacket in Winter and keeps me very toasty.

Also damp conditions are irelivant to this jacket as it uses hydrophobic down so it is not affected.

I've been out when I was glad I didn't have less than my anti freeze jacket, but agree you can obviously layer.
The problem I find with layering although versatile is its more weight, microlight plus a.n. other is heavier than an antifreeze - and I find I prefer a big over jacket than layering up, especially in freezing conditions.
So when I look in my wardrobe when packing, it would always be the one left behind...
Mind...its a pity the Go deal isnt in the black colour, I would buy one myself...:D
