It was used to insulate the Mars Rovers in the -455 F temperatures of space, and being explored as a method of terraforming Mars. Did they copy the marketing for my 'Moon Bag' bought from Millets for £13 all those years ago? It had a reflective layer which meant that, although it was wafer thin and weighed nothing, was going to keep me as warm as sleeping with twice the weight and containing real insulation! This layer came from Apollo moon missions or something. My user experience did not really support space age claims....
