Bob's having a clearout at BPL ... http://www.backpackinglight.co.uk/promotions/page/1/ I'm tempted by a couple of things but the new years res is to clear more clutter out not buy more, we'll see though
Decent looking midge jackets for only a fiver at Bushwear .. http://www.bushwear.co.uk/clearance/clothing-accessories/bhw-bug-proof-midge-jacket.html They look very similar to my Beatons, only a neck opening though rather than a full face zip, should still work fine though and possibly even lighter
Took a punt on the Midge Jacket. Postage cost more than the jacket! Beatons jackets are £20 with same postage charge. Will I ever use it?
I wouldn't be without mine from June through to September, but I'm a wuss when it comes to clouds of midges
B'stard! I was after a basha but succumbed to an Intergral Designs Siltarp 1 in the sale! I must be getting soft.
just stumbled on an event hooped bivy on fleabay. might be of interest to someone. no connection etc http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Integral-...=100013&prg=11472&rk=3&rkt=30&sd=171561045690
Midge Jacket arrived yesterday. 118g for the gram weenies. Good quality workmanship as well. For a fiver, it's a real bargain.
I'm currently thinking about restoring my Vango, force ten which was given to me. Its a one man version rather than the big ones, that google images come up with. It wont be light but certainly robust. My brother used to laugh at light weight tents so he tells me. The ground sheet IS truly a bath tub. Or a pond liner, It deserves to be restored.
ive got a mk5 in the wardrobe. its in great shape and one day it will fly again. its already had new peg rubbers all round but i need to get it back to its full beauty.
The perpetual Go Outdoors sale has these in a lot of sizes - Mammut Mercury GTX Boots - half price £77.50 Havent got a pair but like the Mammuts i've tried on, thought it was a decent bargain as boots tend to rrp @ £140 these days. Some other things in the sale.
Got to be a bargain mesh inner bathtub floor for duomid roughly £28 !!! http://wanderingsupnorths.blogspot.co.uk/2015/01/duomid-innercheap-style.html?m=1
Have you got a link to the inner Peter, I think I might have asked you this last time but can't remember what you said, maybe add one into your blog post too. Do you think the net will be midge proof or just mossie proof?
Soz thought I'd put it on..link on now to whole tent..just messagebhim for inner only $40 think he quoted..looks to be midge proof to me....
As a cheap mat, 300g, I've just ordered one of these. Slightly dubious about buying Karrimor but my Multimat Air Adventure has completely failed after about 50 nights' use and they won't answer my messages so I need a new one and can't justify spending a lot given how often I'm able to get out and about. http://www.gelert.com/karrimor-6-tube-nylon-sleeping-mat-782174?colcode=78217490
I just bought one of those to replace my Multimat Air Superlight and as far as I can see they're the same thing, colour and branding are different but that's it. They need to be treated fairly carefully but are good mats. (my Multimat was fine until a "friend" started playing silly buggers with a knife and put a large cut in one of the outer tubes) They're that £16 in a few places, and I think they're good value.
I might be being really thick here but I still can't see a link to the tent inner you have described. Sounds great though, I have thought about making something similar in the past. For £26, I'll save myself the hassle and get one ordered if you would be so kind as to point me in the right direction. Did you get stung for any customs charges?
