What an amazing video. Scenery was awesome. That drone took some amazing footage.

Really nice. But I don't want drones buzzing around the hills personally.

It would be annoying but I do like the results

I'm not quite packing double theraband gold and a bag of 9mm lead yet :)

But I'd still see it: any drone busting solutions on the market.....

In all honesty mate again i'd say doubtful if it's being flown responsibly.

I've seen RC airplane fliers have so many close misses with quadcopters, much above 20m on a typical white sky UK day and they pretty much disappear.

Bear in mind that these RC airplane fliers are looking up in the sky and know for a fact there are other aircraft up there and still they struggle to see them.

I've seen a lot of crap posted about them on outdoors forums, in reality even IF someone was flying one within say 100m of you there is a good chance you wouldn't even notice it, especially if you're hiking as more than likely you'll be concentrating where your next footstep will go.

Biggest pain in the arse i've come across (noise wise) is folks (usually runners or old people hiking) that listen to music, not with ear phones either but through the phone/radio speaker.

You have more faith in people's manners than I :)

No no i understand what you mean, folks just buy them these days and think they can fly them anywhere how ever they please.

Like the bloke in the vid there are lots of responsible fliers out there, if it's a responsible flier chances are even if it's directly overhead, unless there is no wind at all chances are you wouldn't notice it.

The optimist in me recons that if someone goes to all the hassle of lugging one up a hill/mountain then they'll at least have a idea what they're doing.

Besides even with modern electronics IF they fly too low a decent gust of unexpected wind and they'll lose it.

I did faff about setting up a glider for hiking vids years back, my logic was that i wouldn't have to lug heavy battery packs up and down the hills (they still need smaller batteries for the control, but these tend to last a fair while).

Didn't count on how tough it was to fly a glider though :bag:

Be a good low impact (on environmental noise) solution for those that can fly them

The noise is a PITA. Had recent experience of them at Wasdale Head & Ae Forest. Great as the results may be I'm not keen on seeing or hearing these things.
