Call me weird ("you're weird!") but I'm always on the look out for unusual shaped bottles, tubs and cans for possible reuse as alcohol stoves, water and food containers etc.
I've found this salad tub from "BOL" that has a pretty sturdy 60g plastic tub with a wide screw top that is a nice wide and flat shape, that I think might be useful as a lightweight cold-soak jar, mixing bowl, eating bowl etc.
Inside height is 9.5 cm, and diamter 10cm. Seems to hold ~730ml when full to the brim.

It comes with a small (flimsy) tub of oily dressing and a tiny folded plastic spoon. There are a few flavours, I tried the Mexican one which tasted good even without the dressing. However, it's pretty expensive for a salad...Available from Ocado #middleclasslife
It looks like BOL also do soups that seem to be the same style of tub, but flatter and smaller.

So what's your best trail recipe that requires cold-soaking or mixing, that I can use this for?

I could definitely stick granola/muesili and Nestle Nido milk powder in here for a "just add water" breakfast.

I can't help but think how ridiculous the packaging is though. .. especially as they spout on about being Vegan friendly blah blah blah.

I was going to just use it for overnighters, empty in a tin of irish stew with a few tinned potates. Havent got round to using it yet.

Stormin 750ml Titanium Pot/Cold Soak System. 114 grams, weight includes Pot, Lid, Handle, Silicone Pot support & Silicone sealing band. I know its heavier than a Bol Soup container but you get a free cook-pot with it.

I’ve been using one of the soup ones for a while - housemate used to buy them for his lunches and they work well.
I use it when hiking with my partner, so we didn’t need to buy a bigger pot than my 650mL. I assumed it was heat safe because it’s a microwave soup bowl.

It is absurd. But, Veganism isn’t isn’t an anti-packaging ideology, it’s an anti-animal exploitation ideology. The success of the hyper-processed, over packaged vegan foods in the last few years (soy based meats, desserts etc) implies there’s less crossover with environmental concerns than you’d expect/want :(

I wonder if it’s better/worse than the tetrapacks that instant lunchhes are typically sold in?

The best use for them is somewhere to keep all the bits and pieces you can never find when you want them. Line locs, tick pullers, cord locks etc
