But yes...cold and probably wet...possibly muddy. But a nice enough walk.

October, cold wet and muddy, as long as that's not a problem then yep.

Did the WHW last year and maybe this year in summer with my wife- her UK-comeback.
So the southern part of your little island would be ok?

Pembrokeshire coast path would be dandy that time of year. Did someone mention mud... Do the northern half. it's rather splendid. :joyful:

sure - you may need to wash it first though- it had a very sweaty 6 week trip last year..

start at poppit (which is the end). from there all the way around st.davids its glorious.after that its none too shabby either.

i'm not sure about october but there's a great walkers bus service that runs along that coast so you could drop out or skip bits quite easily.

Swcp is pretty, and ridgeway is a little dull but should stay pretty dry under foot. October can be nice in the south. Start of the swcp is about as dramatic as the south gets to the best of my knowledge. The alps it's not.

Thanks @Enzo ,so I think it will be the south.Since I´ve got only one week and don´t want a too long way to the entry of a path it would be easiest t take a flight to London and have a short bus/train ride. The Ridgeway seems to be ideal under these circumstances.:)

If you do the Ridgeway DO NOT miss visiting the avebury stone circle and get a cream tea at the national Trust cafe. I went East to West which would make it a few miles past the end.
