Walking; some scrambling? Our (current) plan is to fly to Italy, do an Alta Via, then go to Slovenia for the wedding and some hills.
Alright! They have arrived! Super nice as everything I've ever owned from Cumulus. Can't see that they're leaking down anywhere. Comes with a small stuff sack that's also made out of Pertex to give them some kind of water resistance. It's not really waterproof so don't let that fool you. Feels really nice on my feet, made sure to size it so I can wear thick socks in them if it's really cold outside. Not field tested them yet as I'm afraid of Yetis and I've sold my tent. So you'll have to wait for that when I get my new tent.
I had missed the "Others?" in edh's initial post and since I appear to be the only one with Black Ice booties, here is a quick rundown. They come in two sizes, Medium and Large and the reinforced sole of the latter is exactly 28 cm long. The bootie is 26 cm high with elasticated cuffs that are adequate and not too tight. They are each supposedly filled with 15gr of 700 FP goose down and weigh 76 gr each as delivered with the microfibre lining accounting for 33 gr. Removing the lining with a seam ripper was quite easy, brought the weight down to 86 gr a pair and made no noticeable difference in warmth.
Really liked mine, cooked my feet on the meetup last weekend so I had to take them off but the temps were not that low. I find them spot on as you just get in your bag to warm up.
