Have been looking at these myself, any chance of a quick review once they arrive?
That's indeed the plan @Nigellionheart
@edh business or for a spin in the Alps?
A wedding; not mine. But we have budgeted a few days for some walking too....
@edh know the premises? We run Villa there and cater the weddings
Grand Hotel Toplice.
A local mountain guide would be nice
@edh whats on your mind. Mountaineering?
Walking; some scrambling?
Our (current) plan is to fly to Italy, do an Alta Via, then go to Slovenia for the wedding and some hills.
We won't be staying at the Toplice €€€€€€€€
@edh staying in the huts want be cheaper....but theres wildcamp aint it
Alright! They have arrived!
Super nice as everything I've ever owned from Cumulus.
Can't see that they're leaking down anywhere. Comes with a small stuff sack that's also made out of Pertex to give them some kind of water resistance. It's not really waterproof so don't let that fool you.
Feels really nice on my feet, made sure to size it so I can wear thick socks in them if it's really cold outside.
Not field tested them yet as I'm afraid of Yetis and I've sold my tent. So you'll have to wait for that when I get my new tent.
I had missed the "Others?" in edh's initial post and since I appear to be the only one with Black Ice booties, here is a quick rundown.
They come in two sizes, Medium and Large and the reinforced sole of the latter is exactly 28 cm long. The bootie is 26 cm high with elasticated cuffs that are adequate and not too tight. They are each supposedly filled with 15gr of 700 FP goose down and weigh 76 gr each as delivered with the microfibre lining accounting for 33 gr. Removing the lining with a seam ripper was quite easy, brought the weight down to 86 gr a pair and made no noticeable difference in warmth.
My Aegismax XLs rocked up today; 81g in the stuffsac - using them tomorrow night.
I tried on @Dave Vaughan s XLs.
Bit short for my size 12s.
Nice build quality though.
I'm size 9, 44 and they are perfect; glad I did not go for the Ls...
Got mine too, good fit for my size 10 feet in xl.
Really liked mine, cooked my feet on the meetup last weekend so I had to take them off but the temps were not that low. I find them spot on as you just get in your bag to warm up.
@edh that was fast delivery or not?
About 20 days
Just received the Chinese Down booties and Down head gear and works a treat
really rate them.
@edh PMed you
According to their Website the coverboots are 35g, is this per pair or per boot?
That's per pair in size M.
I bought M and with the stuff-sack it's 40g.
