So do you use those to get toasty in the sleeping bag?

I find that not even winter mountaineering insulated boots will keep my toes warm once I am setling in camp if its in the -5 to -10 C range.
I wonder if down booties + a cover would do the trick, or it would get compressed if I am walking around snow camp and wont be any warmer than the bloody boots.

If this was pointed at mine I don't really do winter camping anymore. So these are for 3 season use combined with thicker socks if it's colder, around 0 C +/- a few degrees. So I can't really say in that temperature range.

Ok so I finally had a good test run with these from Cumulus.

It was about 5-6C during the night and rain. I put them on and my feet went from cold to super comfy in a couple of minutes. It was even at the point in the middle of the night that my feet were sweating and I had to pull them off. I'm very happy I got them because they're way better than the heavier wool socks that I used to carry with me.

Just like with the Cumulus quilts the do leak some down, not as bad as the quilt though, that on certain nights can look that you fought a goose in the tent.

    Would recommend to a friend...
