ive a roll of 2.0 but cant use hardware with it and becket et al just bind to death. Waste of space for tape suspension i found. ok as huggers i guess but i moved to the dyneema hybrid with beetles

I'd be interested in a group buy.

    Initial tests (from last year)
Short on buckles ATM. Only have Adutchable Buckles here, threaded on very easily, was a bit worried it might slip, but found a way to add an extra turn to make it super secure (didn't hang from them tho').
    Loop Aliens
These are my go-to suspension, got them on all the CLs on my various hammocks. Both types threaded easily enough and held with three turns around the back,

    Becket Hitch
    Hitched onto a 7/64" (2.5mm) Amsteel CL
    The plain weave held fine,

but the twill weave slipped consistently when I sat down, slipped slowly through, creating fair heat by friction. A double Becket hitch fixed it.

    MSH and Toggle
Both types held fine with the MSH (onto Hammock CL),

forgive the rather agricultural toggles, it's not a system I use generally.

I use the 2.0 with Loop Aliens exclusively now. A work colleague uses Becket Hitch with his.

To give you an idea of the cost...
If I got 60 feet, that would be US$104.50 shipped, below the import duty rate, just VAT and handling charge.
    So, that would be £79.65 x 1.2 = £95.58 plus £12 handling charge  = £107.58
That would work out at £1.80 per foot.

If I got ambitious, and push the order up to just under the duty limit (£135), I could get 100ft, that would come to £125.31 shipped (a bit of a margin for exchange rate vagaries).
    So, that would be £125.31 x 1.2 = £150.38 plus £12 handling charge :banghead: = £162.38
That would work out at £1.64 per foot.

You would have to add on the cost of me posting it to you onto that cost, but that won't be very much.

One way to make the Becket hitch easier to untie, is to make the CL on your hammock more substantial.
You could swap out for a thicker cord, but you can do things with a standard 7/64" Amsteel CL to improve things.
Turn the CL, so that the Becket hangs off the buried portion of the CL, it's twice as thick there.
You can also sheath the CL to make things easier; heatshrink tubing, or the sheath from paracord will serve (hell, why not both).

Anything over £15 (that's goods plus shipping/insurance) gets hit by VAT, and a handling charge by Royal Mail (or whoever is the onward carrier) of £8 - £15
Over £135 you get VAT (20%), then import duty (variable, depending on goods category, but usually around 10%) and finally the handling charge.

    It's heeere!

    It's the business, this stuff!
Much stiffer than the old 2g/ft Dyneema. It's like a mad-strong grosgrain!

    BTW
    it is 1.65g per foot

I'll be putting whoopie hooks on mine too. Wanted to with the Kevlar but never got round to it.

    Those are only 4.2g,

I think Kyle got his numbers wrong.
Even so, it's an expensive way to save 7 grammes.
I feel a little dirty buying the knock off Chinese steel ones, but not enough to spend that sort of cash supporting the inventor.

Yeah $34 plus postage for 10g does not equate
