Easton Pole sections (8.6mm) - anyone have a spare?shipp

long shot, but might as well have a go.

I need to replace a section of my Double Rainbow arch pole while on the road. Scottish mountain gear won’t be stocking the part again until next year. Tarptent sell it, but shipping makes the $3 part a $60 part if I want to be sure it’ll arrive within a month (because I need to plan where it’ll be sent).

DAC make a pole of nearly the same dimensions, but it’s 1mm too thick.. I considered replacing the whole arch pole with DAC pole, but that winds up costing about €70.

So, either of my options end up costing about 20x more than the simple replacement section.

Thought it worth asking if anyone has a spare that I could chuck em a tenner for?

Thanks! Well all I need to replace is a single section. The section is an 18” section, 8.6mm diameter. Is that one of the sections you have? Would be an amazing bit of luck if so.

I won't know till the morning (with a bit of luck) been out the house since 7 and not home yet... When I get in, I'll have a quick look but my selfish priority is to get some snap dahn

Hmm, thank you. Total pole length would be 6” shorter than the Easton set the DR uses. I’ll see if tarptent reckon that’s too far outside the usable range.

Really really appreciate you checking and offering, either way!

Have you thought about reshipping service? I use Stackry and the cheapest delivery option they have costs about $13 and arrives in 10 days. I've used it to ship small items. No monthly fees, pay per shipment. Here's the referral link which will get you $10 credit towards your first shipment when you sign up.

Just had a look, looks like the cheapest option to Spain or Morocco is $36.15 for 20-35 day service, or $55 for 14 day.

I have a full set of poles from a Naturehike tent and they are 8.55 mm wide according to my caliper, just under 38 cm long for each section, not counting the bit that fits into the next pole. These are spares as one section cracked and I just ordered a new set.

You can have as many as you want for the price of postage (France to Spain is easy and cheaper than to the UK, France to Morocco can be arranged). There is definitely enough to replace the whole arch pole if needed. PM me if interested.

Thanks both @Chiseller and @Balagan spoke to a tarptent rep who reckoned the length disparity on either of your sets would be “ok but not great” - given that I’d end up replacing it again in the long run. So I really really appreciate the offers, but in the interest of not generating waste I think I’ll run with the pole repair sleeve I have for now, and just have to deal with using it for longer than ideal.
