    Hello

    Names Fraser, reside in Cowal.

Always done a bit of walking about the local hills, even managed a few Munro's a few years back. Since the arrival of my daughter (2 years ago) I've reverted to staying local and recording any trips I make.

Also have a touring/sea kayak and mountain bike. So plenty of options of getting about and to the hills.

Starting to get some gear together, so I can spend some nights out under the stars ( or clouds!!). Hopefully saving weight and space as I go compared to my existing gear. Whether it's on my back or in my kayak I'm going to try and make things as light as possible.........well as my budget (wife) allows.

    Thanks

    Fraser

Hey Fraser. Welcome aboard. Lightweight gear is lightweight gear whether you transport it on wheels, Paddle it or put it on shanks' pony :D

A shanks pony......now there's an addition to the fleet. The wife thought she had problems with my existing 'junk' in the garage.

Yeah will do, it's going to be autumn time before I'm up with the boat again now though, I'm tackling the CWT in August/September this year.

By that time the midgies will have disappeared, so an ideal time to visit. ;)

Plus I won't have any blood left from the CWT anyway :)

Oooohhh, midgies!!!!!!! Only experienced those once, that was at the holloway Forrest!!

Except they were no ordinary midgies, they were bloody commando or ninja midgies!!!

Pretty sure the ones up here carry baseball bats and hunt in packs. On my bothy trip to loch Etive it took 3 attempts to try cut a 2" branch without getting mauled.

Had to phone a crisis line after that!!
