    Hello Guys!

My actual name is Max, but you can call me Sep. And yeah i'm Russian.
Looks comfy here, and many members are from Europe.

I'm fairy new to the LB and there is not so much info about this movement in my country. But i have decent exp in Recreational Camping, History (WWII/Great Patriotic War) reconstruction and Karelia whitewater canoeing.

If you have any questions about Russia and history, you are welcome to ask. Btw, is there any Novice guide to Light Backpacking thread here?

    Welcome Sep.

The essence of lightweight backpacking is to make/choose your equipment light enough to carry, strong enough to be reliable in the conditions you expect, and cheap enough to have some money left to travel to great places to use it. :D

What is the terrain/climate like near where you live?

Thanks Guys for warm welcome. Merry Christmas, bit late but still!(Orthodox Christmas is on 7 January)

Def need now some warm here. We have a cold wave now -26C(-32 at night), can't calculate Fahrenheits:confuseded:. Ten days of official vacations as addition lead to frustration a little. Feel free but can't go out, to dangerous. Yeah nature is brutal here.

As i said it is pretty tough here in winter time, but summer is hot and bright. Most of the terrain look like this most of time:
Checked through forums and seems that most of guys here are from UK, right? Lots of trip reports tells me that many of you are "Approach/Hike" guys. Mb i'm wrong.:rolleyeses:
I live in central part. So basically we are people of "Woods and Rivers" that leads to certain activities like canoeing and woodscraft.

I'm trying to combine my knowledge and methods of Light Backpaking and woodcrafting in one.
I will try to post some reports here when spring will come. Now the Nature is "dead".:bear:

The cold wave in Russia was on the UK news today Max, predicting a bit of it heading this way - not that cold though!

    Wow, that's seriously cold.
Nice mixture of deciduous woodland in your photo Max. Plenty of insects along the rivers in summer I guess. What sort of shelter do you like? Net tent with a lightweight canopy above it?

Hi Sep. Welcome to the forum. :)

-32c is dream temps for me, the colder the better. Can you turn a fan on please and send some of that cold air East. :)
