These were my go-to dehydrated meals for the last few years. Only ever seen something similar in Portugal and Spain but a year or two ago ASDA started carrying them and they are amazing. From reading, it looks like they have been discontinued and I can't find anything on the shelves any more.
Most importantly, they are easily the best tasting meals I've had
Don't require adding milk or butter
Cook very quickly
Cheap - about £1.50 each
High calorie/g - they are 664 calories for only 166g which is 4 cal/g
Sure you can get 5 cal/g with fancy dehydrated meals but these are 4x as expensive. Even pricey meals like Happy Elk are only 3-4.5 cal/g and much more expensive. These were easy to stock up with from a normal supermarket without needing to pay postage, cheap and delicious. I often raided my hiking cupboard to eat one when I didn't have time to go shopping at home.
Anyone know of anything similar? I'm gutted I didn't stock up more before they were gone.
