Has anyone ordered stuff from this company in Ukraine?
I have some of apex boots. They came from Ken at BPL though. I know of a couple of people @Daniel being one of them that have ordered direct and I understand all was good.
Liteway is in the Ukraine, Slovenia is a different country where GramXpert is located.
I think I spied a Liteway DCF pack which made its way over to @Daniel's abode. A couple of people from the French RL forum have ordered packs from them and they seem pretty happy.
Their phone number has dialing code 38 which I think is Slovenia.
Their synthetic quilts that use Climashield APEX apear to be an absolute bargain. This 0C quilt is just €119
Yes, their prices are very good. I was tempted by a pair of Apex booties myself but I'll wait until something else of theirs tickles my fancy as shipping makes them a tad expensive/not-as-good-value when ordered alone.
+380 vs. +386 for the dialling codes.
The booties are very good quality, and have kept my feet warm a few times now. They dry out pretty quickly too.
I have used them at camp with Ram VP socks and a thin liner sock whilst outside of the shelter.
I’ve been checking out one of their https://liteway.equipment/quilts/sleeper-quilt-apex-167 for some time now.
Sizing is a little narrower on the medium, cheaper alternative but heavier fabric. Ken @ BPL rates the company.
Had my eye on though’s too.
I would still rate this as a +2 to +1 being the claim is by using a thicker 20d fabric which in theory you should be warmer than a lighter denier fabric.
I wanted to try them as I wear trail shoes and wet foot it pretty much all year. At camp I wanted to clean and dry my feet and then have something to keep them warm that can get a little damp and still perform. These ticked that box.
all good here, i jumped on the 20% offer at xmas. great coms and service
Took a gamble in the xmas sale and ordered the Sleeper Quilt 750 and a pair of Choonies..... Just over 3 weeks from order to delivery, no taxes/charges on delivery.
Haven't had opportunity to try the quilt yet (only came last week), and it's my first quilt so I can't really do any useful comparisons (sorry!) but as it stands I'm happy with it, especially for the price paid. It seems to loft up nicely, and the stitching looks clean to my (non-expert) eye. Weight prettymuch exactly on spec.
The choonies are great. Total bargain.
Could definitely be tempted by a pack if another sale comes around.
edit: oh and just to add, they're definitely Ukraine. Parcel came via Ukraine Postal Service and amusingly covered in Ukraine stamps.
I bought a pair of Choonies from them as well; the stitching is clean and neat, the supplied bag is super light. A great alternative to EE sidekicks etc.
Tempted on the quilt and the choons...
No doubt you'll let us know if you get a quilt. If you do and its one of the synth ones I'd like to come and have a shuftie.
We can sort that it would be the synthetic as my golite ultra 3 down takes some beating. My ultralight apex bag is a bit narrow in the foot to be combined with the golite for hard winter temps.
The only thing putting me off this apex quilt is the weight and compact ability.
I see someone asked about what size it compacted to. I guess it is going to be similar to other Climashield APEX quilts. Maybe one of the other firms that use it have some usable information. I'm a pit put off by the poncho "function" that I think I'd never use.
I've had a cold weather apex quilt before from Arrow Head Industries... Damn warm but annoying due to Velcro foot closure. That packed reasonably well.
My order is in, I've been swayed as I reckon I'll benifit more on my fastpacking trips... I'll probably sell my down and skinny apex quilt, plus my down booties and hopefully come out even.
Temptation is my downfall... Had my 1st beer in a while last night... Came home and blew my stash in online buying apex gear I don't need she wasn't happy last night and is even less happy this morning
Hi @Ami @bazpoint , do you know what shoe size do the choonie sizes correspond to?
I went for L, which is a great fit for 46, UK 11 size / 30 cm. Hope this helps.
PS. Liteway uses Apex 67 for the Choonie, which makes them more 3 season rather than winter option.
I'm UK8 and got Medium. They've got about an inch to spare, so I'd say go Medium up to maybe a UK9, beyond that probaby Large.
Same here and mine fit fine
