I can now travel to the countryside in a car but can only use public transport as a last resort. I do not own a car but need to exercise in the Peak District, where do I stand?

No standing, you have to keep moving, otherwise it's not exercise. From Wednesday unlimited exercise so just head out of Nottingham walking on a bearing of 315 degrees for around fourty miles. Oh, and when you get here you'll need to self isolate for 14 days unless you are from France.

BJ said people could travel to a beach, do they really need to just sit about drinking and littering?. My trip to the Peaks is for fitness and mental well-being, social distancing on transport is not a problem & in the hills, even less so.

Apparently there's a 50 page doc being released tomorrow that will clarify the details of how much extra you can be fined for breaking the rules the police make up the interpretation of as they go along. :confuseded:

Woohoo! I can finally get out to do some proper social distancing, miles away from folk instead of next door.
I think that if folk need to use public transport to get to do some exercise, then that's not really in the spirit of the easing of restrictions. As I sit here listening to the news, they specifically say we are allowed to drive with members of our household only.
Am I lucky to have a vehicle? I am tonight, but I dont feel lucky most of the time. Vehicles are expensive and I have no option as there isn't any public transport where I live.
    I'll post some photos. :cigar:

I shall await Janey Godley's YouTube voice over translation. Meanwhile with three phases and five threat levels and such I'm pretty sure there will be conflicting interpretations and vast potential for conflict with "locals" so I'm holding back on going for a wild camp just yet.

To play advocate... Social distancing on the hills 'could be problematic'
Narrow paths, folks heading opposite directions. I'm itching as much as you and my mental and marital well being also has needs. Reality is, a walk on local pastures or hill, relives the symptoms whearas the summit or valley is the cure for me too.
I must have missed the bit about beach... I can imagine the chaos at Robin hoods Bay etc... How do you social distance in a bottle neck?
It's going to be tough and hopefully we won't be going backwards in two weeks. Stay alert, stay safe and think not about the self. I'll be trying my hand at a summit... But I'll start past midnight and summit for daybreak... Quick bivi and hopefully down before the ones that think they are part of the real outdoor bubble, arrive enmass.

If I had to self isolate for 14 days in the Peaks how much fuel would I need for 3 coffees and 2 meals a day using a Speedster 50ml burner and windshield

When he was speaking about work he said if possible go by car or walk or bike he didn't say that using public transport was a last resort nor mention anything about not taking it to go for exercise.
He can't cause it sets a kinda class system
Me ma was hoping that Boris would drop the lockdown as she's pure scunnered with it at this stage :D

What the government tell the police to do versus what they tell the public they can do is a right old tangled mess. Police go on shift with pages of stuff to read regarding new regs... only to find by the end of shift policy has changed due to what the lawmakers say is enforceable and non enforceable.

But surely only if the Pole in question is a household member.

14ml per brew and per meal so 14 squared by 5 which is 1 litre.

Do you really believe that every car now traveling to the coast or countryside is going to contain only members of the same family?. I am a solo traveller and feel as though I am being discriminated against because I don't own a car. Also trying to be environmental friendly

I suspect they've not thought of this scenario.

Not sure where you stand but I'd be stood on Curbar Edge.

My daughter hasn't seen her boyfriend in 8 weeks and I can't see them socially distancing if they get anywhere near each other.

Sorry, meant to say household. With regards to PT it seems to be only if necessary, how do I interpret that?
