Evening, What sites are people using for long range weather forecasts ? Central highlands and fort William specifically if it makes any odds....early to mid December cheers
For long range; Meto text forecast is the most reliable as the Meto are the best in the business. You can more often than not count on it largely verifying for 6-10 days. I do Meto first, then look at the nwp models (GFS, ECM, UKMO etc) available for free on most decent weather websites then check Netweather model discussion thread( https://forum.netweather.tv/topic/84434-model-output-discussion-cold-snap-incoming-16th-nov-onwards/page-27) Be very wary of any source that gives details after 10 days, they are full of

The Meto 3 month contingency planner came out today for Dec/Jan/Feb. A broad continuation of the outlook with warm/wet/windy start to the winter, shifting rapidly to a more blocked setup once the effects of the expected SSW propagate down.
