Got my Mrs one of the cheap apple watches, I was surprised it ran viewranger mapping. £280 I think.

I have a Garmin Forerunner 235. Admittedly I use it mainly for running but I find the feedback from it quite motivating when hiking to see the pace I'm doing and how relatively low my heart rate is. Maybe I'm just going through a pace obsessed period.

Not really bothered of other features but to just carry a watch like I do but to have the gps/iPhone (when you get a signal) and to have view ranger and other apps weather etc and waterproof, the price for the 3 or the 5 appears to be if not a bargain against other feature watches.

Hmm, despite wanting a watch with GPS, etc I find these such a turn off. As a benefit at work I can get a 3 for £39 and a 4 for £100 but I am still not remotely tempted.:frown:

The functions look amazing though. The fall alert etc.

I have one of these coming free with a phone contract soon https://consumer.huawei.com/uk/wearables/watch-gt/
But its going straight up for sale as I have a fitbit watch also and tbh it just becomes a watch after a short while even with built in gps and options to use with apps etc...

Only thing that would interest me is viewranger map display.

Would you rather the US or China know where you are and what you are doing?

It was my daughters choice and she wasn't worried about any of that.
But nothing a mobile vpn couldn't sort out if she was...Camera is amazing on it...

    That’s a nice watch !@Diddi
Decided to go with the series 3 gps version 02 wanted an additional £16 per month to piggyback on my plan for the cellular version ? Works seamlessly with my other items and yet to try viewranger, but looks good.
    Thanks everyone!

Actually if you look at reviews of the Huawei Watch GT the main shortcomings are around the operating system they have developed for it. There are no 3rd party apps and It is unclear whether it will work with things like Strava so no way to keep your results for review over time. Garmin connect is very good for this, for Garmin watches. So I think I'll stick with my Garmin for now.
