New Balance Minimus MT00v2 vs. Inov8 Terroc 330

Hello,

anyone been using both 330 and MT00V2 trail runners that can compare the fit to now discontinued Terrocs 330. I like how wide in forefoot/toes Terrocs are so wonder if NB are nearly the same width?

How do they run length wise (size up/down)?

Regards

Terrocs were Inov8's standard (wide) fit, their Roclites are the same if you've not tried them yet.

Pete Bland had some good prices last time I looked

I guarantee you that some Roclites definitely are Not the same wider forefoot last as Terrocs. E.g. 315s aren't. They are narrower forefoot.

I think Roclite 295s may have been. Not sure now.
Flyrocs definitely were.
Unfortunately none of the Race Ultras or Trailrocs are the same as Terrocs either. some of my (admittedly apelike) toes touch the end of all the size 12s I've tried.

Those NBs look a completely different beast to Terrocs? Zero drop and softer compound mud tread?

Mizuno wave harriers are comparable in forefoot width/volume, but seem discontinued at the moment. The hard tread compound is not so good on wet rock, but great elsewhere.

I had 315 and they were the worse narrow shoes ever...so I doubt the sole are the same

The NB I found were much roomier in the toe-box than terroc 330s. NB suit my 2EE flippers well, even in D width. They are more rounded whereas the terrocs/trailrocs dont have as much room for the 3/4/5th toes. Much lighter too, my terrocs feel heavy running. Completely different types of sole though, the miniumus is a few mm thick. My Trailrocs have a strange shape to the sole, my 3/4/5th toes push against the mesh but the big toe is long way from touching.

So they are as wide as 330 if not wider and more round shaped toe box? Agree on how heavy 330 feels def. not for running...clumsy:mad:

What's their sizing like compare to 330...10UK NB = 10UK Inov8?

I don't find any difference in size between the two, I think they are both sized about right but I know opinions differ. Definitely wider to me.

I'm 10.5 and take an 11 in both.

@pete I am 9 but have to size up one or one/half sizes in Inov/LaSportiva shoes....
so you reckon 10UK NB should fit?

How do you find them over rocky/rooty stuff?

I wear the New Balance ALL the time...nothing else. They are WIDE...
Zero drop.
Couldn't wear Inov8's, sadly because much too narrow.
The water goes in and comes right out again. Wear Seal skinz socks, but these wear out fast. ( With a Merino)
The lugs are far enough apart so that mud/soil doesn't build up between. They grip...great. Wore all last Winter on the tops, in the snow.
Never wear boots now.
Just bought a pair of Altra's for road/town use. VERY wide toe box and good grip. Pricey.
Get my N.B's from Sports shoes.com down in Shipley, as New Balance shop in Keswick never got any in stock.
The lugs will wear out fast on road use, obviously.

They should do in 10. :) I cant get a la sportiva to fit at all.

As Annie says, no problems with grip. Better than my Inov8s. I've a pair of Leadvilles too amongst others, these in D fit well. Perfect for eating miles on tarmac and drier less technical paths.

BTW, Don't walk across your, 'marble':eek: floor at home, or on a wet manhole :rolleyes::rolleyes:. .....OR, it will be, 'A over T':oops::oops:.
Nor a wet branch hiding sneakily under wet tussock in the forest:eek:......
But then, clumpy boots will slip on that as well...:hilarious::hilarious:

Otherwise, grip anything.....

(Maybe have a chat with sports shoes, re possible pending commission???)
:D
Happy feet.

@pete & Annie I am sold. Thanks Annie for the pics.

"I cant get a la sportiva to fit at all." I did fit in some older models and now only Wildcats are wide enough to feel comfortable:)

At Sportshoes they are affordable as well...

I went around as many running shoe shops as possible, trying out everything before I found the NB's fitted me.
I use wide Orthotics so they had to fit in whatever I chose. No other footwear was wide enough to take them.
Don't forget, they are zero drop, whereas most of the Inov8's are generally, 3mm and 6mm drop.
As long as you are used to wearing dead flat, zero drop footwear, no probs'.

Different colour and width, that's why, Fluffkitten.
I always get the mens footwear and in a D width.

That's the beauty of New Balance...choice of widths.

I buy larger sizes for Winter, to accommodate the Orthotic plus thicker socks/sealskinz.
1 size smaller for Summer.

Managed to buy 2 pairs ready for next Summer's trips.

Wearing out/wornout pairs relegated to Saturated fell days like today.
Only one lug wears out on mine so eventually that 'upsets' my gait if on firm ground, so then have to change to a new pair.
That's why the worn out ones are no problem on, 'squishy' ground....Never seen the ground so wet. Not a dry spot to be found, unless on a craggy top.

With these, you 'feel' what you are walking on.....make strong  feet.

just heads up to others...they do run small !!! I've ordered UK10,5 which is EU45 and they are too small& too narrow for my feet which feel fine in Inov8 terroc UK10..

Alas will send both pairs back to sportshoes..and the search continues...
