Just noticed this thread, so one from a few weeks ago. Pic taken on return from Beinn Rhuadh, Loch Eck, Cowal.
This pretty much sums up today in the North Western Fells Clagged in, no views, -9 with windchill, freezing rain, clocked a 119km/h gust with constant 80s at times. Good to be out again
Back in Chopwell Woods for a Northern Downhill event our lad entered. Excuse the poor pics. Chatting with mates beforehand. The finish Support team duties.
It was just a short run but I heard a few adults saying they'd come off. He had a few dodgy moments but stayed on. Rather pleased as at same event about 6 months ago he had a blow out & crashed & got a bad haematoma in the groin. I didn't fancy another trip to A&E!
Great trip, Cold, windy and plenty of hail on the tops on Saturday, canny day today just cold and windy. The Lingy Hut was a blessing for lunch stops both days though.
First snowy walk for me this winter. Second outing for the nasty looking but nice performing Christmas shoes. 30 miles in, and comfort confirmed.
Aye cracking trip, that Lightwave tent is a proper two man tent. Minaret worked brilliantly. Had pasta dreams worthy of an Oscar.
