Righto, big thanks to you all.
So the take home from this is for me to use either flickr or post direct from my phone when pictures taken with my phone.
    Lesson learned.

You've cracked it @Brendan and some great shots too on the Pic of the Day thread! Quite an experience to have bivouacked on The Wall itself

They say TV insults your intelligence, but it takes a computer to really rub it in. :D

Trying out a different photo host (Shutterfly; it looks like a gift website but provides unlimited storage) because I almost reached Flickr's limit & I already have way too much monthly subscriptions.

How are you doing this using your phone? Sorry but I am useless at these things. Plus I live in Beijing so everything is that bit more difficult.

On some threads I get the option to upload a file and on others this option isn't there. See the screenshots attached.

Neither of you should have the option to upload to the forum, it should be restricted to supporting members only, I’ll take a look later when I get home.

It’s a long time since I set it up but I might have allowed upload a file but n the bugs and feedback forum so folk can attach screenshots of their issues.

RIghto, time to become a supporting member as I get a lot out of this forum and only fair to put something back in.

Just testing here. Been meaning to work out how to upload images. So attempt #1. Resized before upload.

Well, seems to work. Used a resize app to reduce pixels to 800x600.

    Straight from camera:
    2019-12-21 21.22.47.jpg

    Finally, without resize from gallery

OK and now quick compare of resize on phone v autoresize on upload

    First resize on phone

Then letting it be resized on uploading

Looks like better result doing resize one's self which isn't a surprise I guess but is four times the filesize.
